
On August 15th, GIIS KL campus was transformed into a vibrant celebration of India's 78th Independence Day. The grand assembly featured performances from students of all ages, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of India.
The celebrations began with a captivating musical performance by students from Standards 9, 10, and 11. Their live music, played with instruments, set the tone for the day, filling the air with a sense of patriotism and joy.
The youngest students, from KG 1, stole the show with their adorable dance to the Tamil song "Kappaleri Poyachu." Their tiny steps and infectious smiles were a heartwarming sight, adding to the festive atmosphere.
A journey through India's history followed as students from Standards 3 and 4 portrayed freedom fighters. Their costumes and performances brought these iconic figures to life, inspiring the younger students and reminding everyone of the sacrifices made for India's independence.
The poetic expressions of freedom by Standard 1C were another touching moment. Their recitation of poems about Indian independence echoed the sacrifices made by India’s forefathers and the importance of preserving freedom.
The school grounds were transformed into a colorful canvas as students from Standards 3 to 5 sang "Tiranga," a patriotic song that celebrated the Indian flag. The colorful costumes and enthusiastic singing added to the festive atmosphere.
Standards 2A, B, and C showcased their knowledge of national symbols with fun fact presentations complete with props and costumes. The students' enthusiasm and accuracy were impressive. Meanwhile, Standards 3 and 4 put on a dazzling fashion show parade, showcasing traditional Indian attire.
The grand finale was a dance performance by students from Standards 5A, B, and C. Their energetic moves to popular Indian songs, "India Wale" and "Jai Ho," brought the crowd to their feet.
The principal, Ms. Dipti Joshna's speech concluded the event, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the spirit of patriotism and upholding democratic values. The Independence Day celebration at GIIS KL was a memorable event that instilled a sense of national pride and unity among the students. It was a day filled with music, dance, and a deep appreciation for India's rich heritage.
