In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP 2020) vision for value-based, experiential, and multilingual education, GIIS KL celebrated World Sanskrit Week from 25th to 30th August 2026. Led by Sanskrit teacher Mr. Pavitra Chauhan, students from Grades 6 to 10 engaged in interactive activities designed to seamlessly bridge ancient language roots with modern daily life.

The celebration commenced with students exploring timeless life lessons through the recitation and reflection of subhashitas. In the segment focused on Pancha Vakarah (The 5 Pillars of Respect), students learned that true respect is built upon five foundational qualities: dignified attire (Vastra), a healthy body (Vapu?), polite speech (Vak), knowledge (Vidya), and humility (Vinaya). Furthermore, through Shad Doshah (Overcoming 6 Obstacles), learners reflected on the importance of eliminating excessive sleep (Nidra), lethargy (Tandra), fear (Bhayam), anger (Krodha?), laziness (Alasyam), and procrastination (Dirghasutrata) to achieve personal and academic growth.

Experiential learning took center stage during the Varna-Jnana (Learning Colors) sessions. Through hands-on color-matching games, artwork, and visual aids, students actively connected Sanskrit vocabulary with everyday colors, bringing terms like Rakta? (Red), Nila? (Blue), Pita? (Yellow), Harita? (Green), Sveta? (White), and Kesaravar?a? (Saffron) to life in a fun and practical classroom environment.

The grand finale featured a vibrant bilingual presentation titled Mama Vidyalayah (My School). Students showcased their campus by introducing various administrative roles and facilities in both Sanskrit and English using handcrafted signboards. They highlighted leadership positions such as Regional Head of Schools (Kshetriya Vidyalaya Pramukhah), Country Head of Schools (Vidyalaya Deshadhyakshah), Principal (Pradhanacharya), Vice Principal (Upapradhanacharya), and Teacher (Adhyapakah). Additionally, they toured key campus spaces including the Playground (Kreedakshetram), Science Lab (Vigyanshala), Computer Lab (Sangank Yantrashala), School Office (Vidyalaya Karyalayam), Music Room (Sangeet Kaksham), Art Room (Chitra Shala), Canteen (Bhojya Shala), Medical Room (Aushadhalyah), Auditorium (Sabhagaram), and Library (Pustakalyam).

By seamlessly integrating ancient language traditions with interactive, modern learning techniques, GIIS successfully demonstrated how classical wisdom continues to inspire character building and holistic education.
