Kuala Lumpur- 28 April 2021- : “Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit”- Aristotle. The academic excellence and 100% attendance award ceremony took place on 28th April and it commenced at 8:30am in school ground. This ceremony rewards the hard working and consistent students of GIIS throughout their academic year.
The Academic Excellence Award is conferred on a student whose academic performance during the year demonstrates remarkable consistency at the highest level of achievement. These students enjoy learning and motivate others to study hard and efficiently. Their perseverance and commitment throughout the academic year is paid off and is quite clear from their excellent performance in their exams. The academic excellence award was given to the students by the school principal, Captain (Dr.) Dinisha Bhardwaj Singh.
This was then followed by the 100% attendance award ceremony. Success comes with hard work and determination, but none of these qualities come without being present. The presence of a student in class shows not only their interest for studying but also their determination to succeed. Such a quality is worthy of being acknowledged and awarded. Many students were awarded both the awards. The principal congratulated them heartily and was proud of them.
Principal. Captain (Dr). Dinisha Bhardwaj Singh in her speech stressed on the fact that no goal is too hard to achieve if one is determined to reach it. The photo session of all the awardees with the principal and their teachers was completed. This was a proud moment for both the teachers and their students. This couldn’t have been possible without the guidance and motivation of teachers and parents.
Such events motivate other students to work harder and achieve what the awardees have achieved. One can always be inspired to do great things in life. Making mistakes are just stepping stones, they take us where we want to go, and the path is never straight.
