GIIS Charholi organised an engaging Fraction Relay Race for students of Grades 5A and 5D, blending physical activity with mathematical reasoning. The activity focused on identifying and sorting fractions into Like & Unlike Fractions and Proper & Improper Fractions.

The activity brought together the enthusiastic young students, who participated with curiosity, teamwork and confidence. Their active involvement transformed mathematical concepts into an enjoyable learning experience. The Fraction Relay Race was conducted as part of the school’s experiential approach to learning, giving students an opportunity to reinforce their understanding of fractions through an interactive activity.

The school playground at GIIS Charholi became an energetic learning space, where students moved between designated mathematics stations to complete each challenge.

Therefore, the activity was designed to make mathematics more meaningful by connecting classroom concepts with movement, collaboration, and practical thinking. As students raced, analysed fraction cards, and made accurate classifications, they discovered that learning can be both active and enjoyable.
