Life in the Virtual World of education – Abu Dhabi

The entire education system is disrupted by the prevailing COVID-19 situation. GIIS Abu Dhabi is not an exception. The school being part of Global School Foundation had conducted Virtual Classroom sessions during their Student Exchange programs. The technology friendly infrastructure adds an advantage to the campus. Recognizing all these benefits GIIS Abu Dhabi was identified as a Lead School in “School Pairing Program” an initiative by the Department of Education and Knowledge.  The responsibility to guide the partner schools along the way during distance education.

GIIS was the first school to launch Virtual Classrooms session in Abu Dhabi. In the first week of Virtual Classrooms itself the school attended to about 1000 students including the students who would appear for their board exams. Parent meetings, Parent Orientations, SLT meetings are all done virtually.

All age groups of students from KG to Grade 12 are addressed every day through Virtual classrooms. Scholastic and co-scholastic subjects are all incorporated in the time table. Innovative ways of teaching are used to make sessions interactive and collaborative. Teachers use a variety of applications to make the objectives clear. Students take part actively.

Virtual Classrooms initiative is making sure there is continuity in education and learning never stops at GIIS Abu Dhabi.
