The induction of the Student Council for the new academic year was formalised at the Investiture Ceremony 2014 on April 25, 2014 at GIIS Chinchwad Campus in order to respect and acknowledge the potential leaders of the future and to mark a significant beginning of the new academic session.

The Investiture Ceremony was held amidst great excitement and zeal. The event was graced by Dr Amrita Vohra, Principal, GIIS Chinchwad Campus; Mrs Sheela Menon, Vice Principal GIIS Chinchwad Campus; Mrs Vaishali Borde (Global Schools Foundation) and other distinguished guests. The ceremony started with the inaugural song rendition by the melodious school choir followed by a yoga and an aerobics performance in perfect harmony and synchronization.

The relevant insignia and the prestigious school flag and house flags were handed over to the Office Bearers by the school heads. The oath taking ceremony, initiated by the Principal involved the school’s freshly appointed prefect board pledging to uphold the school motto of loyalty, truthfulness and honour in high esteem. They also pledged to look after the welfare of the students their utmost priority was work for the betterment of the school. It was definitely a great moment for the newly elected office bearers.

The Principal addressed the elected members of the Students’ Council Members and advised them to be the role model for the entire school. She also encouraged them to excel in their future endeavours.

The nominees had to go through a rigorous panel interview and a mock poll session followed by a campaign. The entire process was aimed at familiarising students with the democratic system. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks followed by the National Anthem.
