STREET PLAY FOR A CAUSE…

A 20-minute Hindi street play was staged on 17th November by the students of class VI of Global Indian International School, Pune before an audience at Big bazaar, a very popular hang-out at Chinchwad. The street play was based on the theme of Global Warming highlighting the causes and measures related to this issue.

A lot of issues related to environmental degradation and global warming were aired in an interesting manner. In the backdrop, we had banners held by some actors -- scenes that portray healthy forests, deforestation, degraded environment etc.

The street play ended with a brief explanation about the web of life, and its importance in maintaining breathable air, drinkable water, cultivable land etc. followed by a song by all actors in the play.

Through this play we hope to take the global warming message to many simple folks in and around the city, and trigger some amount of positive thought and action.

All the students of class VI participated enthusiastically in the street play as it was the first experience for them of the same. The response to the play was good. It was indeed an enriching experience for the students.
