Guiding Lights: Celebrating Teachers on Their Day

Teacher's Day is not just about the festivities; it's about recognising teachers' vital role in shaping the future of students and society as a whole.

Every year on September 5th, Globalian butterflies come alive with a special buzz of excitement and gratitude. It's a day when students learn not just from their textbooks, but also from the mentors who guide them through life's journey. It's Teacher's Day – a day dedicated to honouring and celebrating the invaluable contribution of teachers. The event was held in our school auditorium.

Teacher's Day is celebrated each year to honor and pay tribute to the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a renowned Indian philosopher, scholar, and teacher who went on to become the first Vice President and the second President of India. The celebration of Teacher's Day is primarily in recognition of his significant contributions to the field of education and his deep respect for teachers.

The Wai Kru Festival is a traditional Thai ceremony held to pay respect and express gratitude to teachers, mentors, and instructors. "Wai" refers to the Thai gesture of pressing one's palms together in a prayer-like manner, and "Kru" means teacher.

The event was a grand spectacle where the teachers organised a gathering for the kids, featuring enjoyable activities. To make it even more special, we made it extra delightful by allowing the students to leave early and providing them with special treats.
