The students at Global Indian International School (GIIS) Tokyo exhibited their patriotic fervour and talent as they participated in the grand Independence Day celebration hosted at the Indian Embassy of Japan on August 15, 2023. The event marked the 77th anniversary of India's independence from British rule and brought together the Indian community and friends of India in Tokyo to commemorate this historic occasion. 

A highlight of the celebration was the captivating performance by GIIS Tokyo students, who enthralled the audience with their rendition of the dynamic song "Sholay" from the movie "RRR," a cultural masterpiece that resonates with the spirit of unity and courage. The students' energetic performance captured the essence of the song, leaving a lasting impact on all those present. 

The group comprised 20 enthusiastic students from Grades 5, 6, and 7, who dedicated themselves to perfecting their performance and embracing the significance of the occasion. Their collective efforts paid off as their vibrant and passionate performance was met with resounding applause and heartfelt compliments from the audience. 

The event was a fitting tribute to India's rich heritage and its journey towards freedom and progress. GIIS Tokyo students left an indelible mark on the celebration, igniting a sense of pride and patriotism among all those who witnessed their exceptional performance.
