GIIS Balewadi marks its place in RWCC, 2022

Global Indian International Schools across geographies have once again come together to celebrate the new age innovation and talents with Real World Conventional Challenges, 2022 which was hosted by GIIS SMART Campus Singapore. This year marks the 11th consecutive year for RWCC and the theme for this year was GAIA i.e .Green And Innovative Alternatives for Earth. This was in line with one of the many United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

RWCC is an international competition among all GIIS campuses. It encourages students to collaborate and network with one another, come up with ideas that solve real-world problems and present the entire process to their team members and mentors. To support the bigger mission, students across campuses come together with their young and creative ideas to make the world a better place.

Students participated in events like Student Conference, Quality Circle Presentations, Transformation Turncoat, OPUS, Smart Strokes, Entrepreneurial challenge, and sports challenge all of which were held physically at campus after 2 years of virtual events.

Students from GIIS Balewadi participated and brought laurels back home as they secured positions in the following categories:

AdzAPP-

An advertising strategy contest organized for the secondary school level students. Students were given different topics on sustainability and they were to create an advertisement advocating the same. In total 15 videos were selected, and GIIS Balewadi bagged the third spot. Their topic was Responsible Consumption and Production. The participating team members- Abhishek, Ayush Narang, and Piyush Gupta ideated, scripted, acted, and edited, all by themselves for a cutthroat competition which got them outstanding results.

Li’l Mavericks:

Students were given different topics and they were to perform a skit on the same. GIIS Balewadi’s little munchkins, Abeer Kulkarni, Ayansh Chavan, Ayushi Tale, Eshani Shrivastava, and Shounak Khanna performed on the topic ‘Mental Health’. They justified their performance by quoting, ‘Mental health is a journey’ and we couldn’t agree more! The students scored first runner-up in the competition and made us all proud.

Live It, Click it, Share It: The students captured beautiful moments under the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals of Reduced Inequalities. Among numerous entries, Chetan M of grade IX secured the second position for his entry.

This year the competition welcomed participation from students of GIIS India (Noida, Ahmedabad, Balewadi, Bannerghatta, Whitefield, and Hadapsar), GIIS Abu Dhabi, Dubai, KL, SMART Campus, Japan, One World International School, Regent Klang, Regent Kedah, Dwight Korea and NPS International School.

These results are the epitome of high spirits and endeavors that made our students achieve such milestones! We extend our hearty congratulations to one and all to be a part of GIIS Balewadi and make us proud and shine.
