GIIS was awarded Special Commendation for Golden Peacock Business Excellence Award for 2013 (as such 1st Annual) by the Awards Jury under the Chairmanship of Justice P N Bhagwati, former Chief Justice of India and Member, UN Human Rights Commission. The Special Commendation was received by GIIS team led by Mr Kaustubh Bodhankar, Deputy CEO, GSF, Mr Rajiv Vasudeva, Country Director (Singapore) GIIS, Mr B G Shenoy, Director, GCEE and Ms Meenakshi Mehta, Principal, GIIS Queenstown Campus, Singapore at an Awards Ceremony held as part of the Global Convention on Business Excellence. The award was given by H. E. Hon. Sayyad Abd-Al-Cader Sayed-Hossen, Minister of Industry, Commerce and Consumer Protection, Govt. of Mauritius, in the presence of Mr. Sudhir Vasudeva, Chairman & MD, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, India and Lt Gen J. S. Ahluwalia, PVSM (Retired), President, Institute of Directors, India. Organised by the Institute of Directors - India, in association with Dubai Quality Group (DQG), the Global Convention on Business Excellence, was held at Burj Al Arab, Dubai, UAE, on May 1 & 2, 2013 with the theme - Business Excellence - Key to Achieving World Class Performance.

H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, presiding at the Global Convention on May 1, emphasized that Businesses must be innovative and entrepreneurial about people and their communities just as they are about profits. "I am imagining biggest social entrepreneur as a hugely exciting and promising element of a truly successful business." He also appreciated the role being played by Dubi Quality Group and IOD for their efforts.
