Rubik@aps@s Cube is a 3-D combination puzzle invented in 1974 by Ernõ Rubik, a Hungarian sculptor and professor of architecture making it the world@aps@s top-selling puzzle game.
The Rubik@aps@s Cube World Championship 2013 was held at Las Vegas, Nevada, USA from July 26th to 28th. RITURAJ SOHONI from Grade 6 at GIIS TOKYO, Japan participated in the same. This is a major event in the world of speed cubing held once every 2 years. About 600 contestants from 37 countries around the globe participated in the event. The event provided a great opportunity for speed-cubers to get together, meet & make friends and learn from their idols, offering them a unique experience.
Rituraj delivered his best. Just the age of 11, he was amongst the top rung of spee-cubers. He also broke his own personal records in almost every category he participated in. The highlight was the 3x3x3 Speed-cubing where he emerged with timings of 10.49 seconds (Single) and 11.84 seconds (average). Rituraj is currently ranked No.3 in the World Cube Association - India official national rankings. He has been speed-cubing for just over a year now, starting in 2012, doing very well in various categories like 2x2x2, 3x3x3, 4x4x4, 5x5x5, 6x6x6, 7x7x7 Pyraminx and Megaminx. |
