With the outstanding facilities for nursery students, tiny tots feel safe, happy and engaged at the school.

GIIS Tokyo Campus offers unrivalled facilities and care for young children of nursery under Global Montessori Plus (GMP) programme. Children benefit immensely from the rich, stimulating environment and the wealth of learning and development that is on offer in the GMP. According to Pooja Joshi, mother of Divisha Joshi (Nursery), “I really believe that GIIS Tokyo Campus is making an excellent indelible impression on my daughter’s tender mind. The uniqueness of her teachers is the combination of discipline, patience, gentle love and care and at the same time encouraging her imagination.”

Students truly are enabled to develop skills for the future and are on their way to becoming confident learners. The nursery has a large outdoor play area as well as a safe play area made of rubber matting. All areas of the curriculum are incorporated through outside environment to extend children’s learning.

Affirming quality education and safe environment provided by the school for the students, Amrita Ojha, mother of Pihu Ojha (Nursery) says, “The journey of my child Pihu, studying in nursery at GIIS Tokyo Campus, has been great academically. Her vocabulary, thinking and motor skills have developed to such an extent that the effort of the teachers in GIIS is seen very clearly. The teachers have also taken great effort in involving her in extracurricular activities. It’s a pleasure that our child is studying in GIIS Tokyo Campus and getting such a school in Japan is a dream come true.”

Adding to this, Kozue Satake, mother of Yuto Satake (Nursery) says, “GIIS Tokyo Campus nursery class has comfortable kids’ size chairs and tables. The room is brightly lit with natural light falling through the windows and I am happy for that. The size of the room is also quite appropriate for the number of students in the class. Moreover, I also like the division of the classroom into a separate study, eating, and playing area.”

GIIS Tokyo Campus conducts monthly theme-based activities for Art, English, Maths, etc. In the English Classes, the little ones learn the alphabets by visual recognition of both upper case and lower case letters. These classes also promote interest in reading and writing, but also include listening and speaking.

“My students, fellow teachers and assistants are all my strength in the campus,” asserts Junko Okuhara, Nursery Head Teacher from GIIS Tokyo Campus. The teachers set an environment for learning with a balance between play, acquiring knowledge and enhancing the skills of the little ones. For Maths Classes, counting, sorting and sequencing is taught to the tiny tots to prepare them for the kindergarten level. Students use blocks, puzzles and books to explore. They learn with music, art, poems as well as indulge in physical play in the outdoor play area. They sing, share and learn with stories and show and tell. Regular field-trips are also conducted like potato picking, strawberry picking, etc. to enhance their pool of knowledge.

Some of the facilities include:

  1. Custom designed classrooms
  2. Spacious indoor and outdoor play areas
  3. Well-equipped infirmary
  4. For nap, portable and comfortable beds
  5. Library inside the classroom
  6. Kids-friendly bathrooms (this include shower areas with a facility of warm water)
