<p>Students from Global Indian International School&nbsp;Tokyo Campus took part in a splendid celebration of India&rsquo;s 70th Independence Day at the Indian Embassy, Tokyo. Participating students put up impressive and mesmerising performances during the event. Honorable Ambassador HE Mr Sujan R Chinoy greeted and commended on student&rsquo;s performances. The students sang the well-known Hindi patriotic song, &ldquo;Aarambh Hai Prachand&rdquo; from the 2009 Hindi movie Gulaal.</p>
<p>The programme began at the embassy with the flag hoisting by Hon'ble Ambassador of India, Mr Chinoy, which was followed by singing of the National Anthem. His Excellency then read the Hon'ble President of India's address to the nation. The audience members were also shown a short video on the Government of India's various future schemes and programme.</p>
<p>Dignitaries and Indian citizens attended the event, which culminated with a photo session. During the Morning Assembly on 16 August 2016, the Principal, Ms Rajeswary Sambathrajan congratulated all the participating students and the team of teachers and boosted their morale by comparing their brilliant performance with the unrelenting participants at the currently undergoing Rio 2016 Olympics.</p>
