Development of basic motor skills in the early years of education allows children to learn and understand concepts faster. Motor skills enables them to perform basic physical activities like running, throwing, catching, moving, writing, drawing, etc. To felicitate motor skill development and fine motor play among children, Do and Discover activity was organized for students of Grade 1 to 9.

Different activities were conducted for each section, where students had to create and explain working models of different concepts. Students across classes prepared models of atmosphere, solar cooker, rain gaze, solar system, distillation, active volcano eruption, rainwater harvesting, etc. Some even created the concepts of osmosis, air pressure, reaction between washing soda and lemon juice with teacher’s guidance.

The objective behind conducting this Do and Discover activity was to endear team work and fine movement skills among the students. The models prepared by them were displayed in respective classes and explained to the fellow classmates in an exceptional way. By this activity, students got a chance to participate in leisure and learn in a healthy environment which ultimately allows them to lead an active life.
