Messy Day & Blue Day Celebration at GIIS Indore

Let@aps@s get Messy

Children love getting messy, be it painting on the walls or on a sheet of paper. Some children express their feelings better through creativity. Keeping this in mind, Messy Day, a fun-filled activity day, was scheduled for students of Pre-primary section to showcase their creativity and imagination without any limits of getting messy. Little ones of Nursery mashed over-ripe bananas, KG-I Kids mashed boiled beetroot and mixed with flour. The KG-II Kids made a graffiti wall with different colours and created different modern art designs using sponge cut-outs that they dipped in their favourite colours and splashed across the wall.

It was a lovely sight to see the kids wearing their parent’s old T-shirts, all smeared with colours as they covered sheets of papers with handprints. The teachers also joined in the fun while they guided the little ones to display their creativity. The activities helped in exercising their gross motor skills, recognizing colour cues through touch and feel. The children enjoyed the activities very much.

BLUE DAY was celebrated on the theme of ‘water’ and the students of Pre-primary section enjoyed learning about the various sources of water, its uses and the importance of saving water through this interactive activity. The classrooms were decorated with beautiful cut-outs and objects of blue colour. The soft boards were pinned with blue clouds, dark blue sky and blue droplets of rain forming light blue puddles. Bags, boxes, crayons and paper cut-outs of butterflies and flowers in blue added as strong colour cues. The students and teachers were dressed in blue attire and the assembly started by introducing the kids to various topics related to colour blue and water. Children and teachers sang and danced on ‘Blue’ song. Dr. Dinesha Bhardwaj, Principal GIIS Indore also joined in the fun.
