The Investiture ceremony of GIIS student council was held in the school with great show and pomp. The event started with garlanding of Mahatma Gandhi’s bust by the Chief Guest Mr.Nikhil Diwan, Director of NIKS Academy, Indore. He was welcomed by presenting a sapling by Dr. (Capt.) Dinesha Bhardwaj, Principal GIIS, Indore.

The programme started with the lightening of torch by Chief Guest. Introduction of members of Student Council, which was followed by March past. Students were presented Badges, Sashes and Flags by Chief Guest, the Principal and Coordinator. 24 students were selected for various posts of student council through election by students and interview by the teachers. Oath taking was conducted by the school principal. The Award Ceremony was a collection of many a proud moments as certificates to the GIIS Scholar, Class toppers, Subject toppers (class wise) and the Inter-House Co-curricular awards were handed over for academic excellence. Students were also awarded for achievements in co-scholastic activities.

Mr. Diwan addressed the students and spoke of the responsibilities that they carried towards their school and the society at large. A word of encouragement from the Principal added to the closure of the ceremony and they paid tribute to the nation by singing the National Anthem. The entire GIIS family comprising the students, parents, coordinator, principal and the Chief Guest participated in a plantation drive to mark Van Mahotsav as an activity of INTACH Club.
