Cricketer Avesh Khan, who made his mark in U-19 World Cup, participated in the GIIS Leadership Lecture Series to share with the budding cricketers of GIIS Indore the challenges and opportunities of a cricketer, based on his own experience. The GIIS Leadership Lecture Series was powered by Chandu Borde Global Cricket Academy.

The cricket team of GIIS Indore welcomed Cricketer Avesh Khan and escorted him to the school auditorium where he interacted with the students and parents. Principal Dr. (Capt.) Dinisha Bhardwaj said that interacting with a youth icon will motivate the students, which in turn will help them gain confidence. He garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in all humility and addressed the students with passion and fervour.

As a part of his lecture, he demonstrated a few skills of cricketing in the playground. The students were inspired by his techniques of fast and balanced bowling, and listened in awe as Cricketer Avesh Khan shared with then the ways in which he had polished his skills after entering the game through Ranji Trophy in 2014 and the reasons that led India to a grand victory of 89 runs in the Under-19 World Cup.

The young cricketer left his mark for his fans of GIIS Indore by autographing a cricket ball and a bat, which is now the prized possession of the school. He also autographed cricket balls for the budding cricketers.

At the end of the session, as a token of appreciation he was gifted a memento which he accepted heartily. The true mark of a winner is poise, presence of mind and the ability to handle pressure. We are sure that this message that he conveyed to the students will surely impact their lives in a big way!
