GIIS Indore, every year, as a part of their ‘Donate Warmth’ initiative distributes woollen clothes and essential items to homeless and vulnerable people living in the slum areas of Indore, around Christmas and New Year. This year too, Global Indian International School (GIIS) Indore family came together to donate basic amenities to the needy. The staff and parents donated new pair of clothes, toys, books, eatables, etc. for the cause, and our school students helped in making the boxes donation ready for the less fortunate.

Students, along with Mr. Arpit Vaidya-Academic Coordinator, Primary has also been a constant companion of children in helping getting the process sorted and visited the slum area near Chandan Nagar to distribute the packets of joy and happiness among the underprivileged. This act of kindness made little children in the slum happy and loved as poverty deprives them of all the basic necessities of life.

GIIS Indore students, with an aim of encouraging the kids of the slum area to continue with their studies come what may, donated books to help them acquire education that ultimately helps them in rising above the slums and lead a fulfilling life. Speaking on the efforts our children had put in, Mr. Arpit Vaidya – Academic Coordinator, Primary said, “It’s been great to get children involved as they can learn about the kind of items that people need such as warm clothes, and they can also see the importance of sharing and being kind to others, particularly at this time of year.”

One of our students from class IX, Abhijeet Solanki shared his feelings as he took part in this charity drive. He said, ‘During Christmas when we share this gesture of goodwill ensures that all of us can come together to share gifts and celebrate. I am glad that I part of a school that continues to provide opportunities for disadvantaged people to participate fully in society and we believe that Christmas is a time when all of us should feel we are special, regardless of the circumstances.”

Appreciating the gesture and kindness, Principal, Dr Captain Dinisha Bhardwaj Singh extended her greetings to students and parents and said, ‘I would like to thank everyone who was involved in this great cause of giving back to the society we are a part of. We’d like to specially thank our parents who have been so generous with their contributions. We couldn’t have done this without them and have been overwhelmed by their generosity. She also congratulated students for giving their hand in the good deed which brought smile on the faces of those who need it the most.’
