GIIS Dubai emerges victorious in Annual Reading Competition

In a celebration of literary prowess and intellectual achievement, students of GIIS Dubai, won recognition and hearts in the highly competitive Annual Reading Competition organised by Achieve3000. The event, held annually to promote literacy and critical thinking skills among students, witnessed spirited participation from 22 top schools in the region. 

The Achieve3000 Reading Competition is renowned for its emphasis on comprehensive reading and comprehension skills, testing students' abilities to analyse, synthesise, and apply information from a wide range of texts. The contest spans various genres, challenging participants to navigate through complex subject matter while demonstrating a nuanced understanding of the material. GIIS Dubai achieved an outstanding total of 7313 points in the competition, showcasing the dedication and enthusiasm of our students towards reading and learning.

A special  mention should also be made about Grade 9A, who emerged as the champions with an impressive 1402 points! This remarkable achievement reflected their unwavering commitment to academic excellence and their passion for reading. They howcased their dedication by completing a total of 610 activities with an impressive success rate of above 75% during the entire competition month. 

The success of GIIS Dubai in the Achieve3000 Reading Competition not only brings honour to the institution but also underscores the significance of fostering a culture of reading and critical thinking in the academic landscape.
