“We cannot become what we want by remaining what we are.”  Kaizen, the Japanese philosophy meaning “Change for the better” exemplifies this thought in more ways than one. We at GIIS, believe that we need to constantly evolve with the times, and thus, was born the idea of Kaizen Club at every campus.

GIIS Bannerghatta officially rolled out its Kaizen Club on Wednesday, June 23.  The GCEE (Global Centre for Excellence and Education) team at GIIS familiarized the staff and student Kaizen Ambassadors with the Kaizen ethos. It was an enlightening and rewarding session for all the staff and student representatives. The concept of a change mindset was ingrained in every member present and was inspiring to say the least.

A programme to recognise and acknowledge every idea, however, small it may be, was the icing on the cake. Students would form an integral part of the Kaizen Club and Grade 6 students of the school would lead the way in spreading the message to the student and parent fraternity. It is indeed, a great platform for students to embark on, which would lead to Personality Development and Entrepreneurship and Leadership - two of our gems embedded in the school’s Nine Gems holistic framework.

To sum up, it was a momentous start to a programme which will soon become part of the school’s overall philosophy.  To quote Charles Darwin, “It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent, it is the one that is most adaptable to change.”
