GIIS Tokyo celebrates World Environment Day

With an objective to encourage general awareness and action for the environment, the staff and students of GIIS Tokyo Kindergarten Campus celebrated World Environment Day on 5th June 2023.

Students of classes Nursery, K1 and K2 carried out a Plantation Campaign where they planted seeds and watered them with great enthusiasm and pride. Students got an excellent opportunity to explore nature through the seed-planting activity.

A short movie with the theme ‘To protect the environment’ was also shown to the students from which they learnt about art from waste exhibits, recycling initiatives, and waste reduction initiatives.

The students of Kindergarten II removed weeds and the campus was filled with environment protection slogans and messages like ‘Let's Plant More Trees’ and reduce waste.

It was a day of earnest collaborative effort that was made by the teachers and students to infuse renewed support for environmental conservation along with other environmental concerns. This endeavour was aimed at committing to work together to build a safer, more prosperous and equitable world for all and to ensure environmental sustainability, and it was a resounding success.
