Renowned Bollywood music director Sheykhar Ravjiani hosted an enriching masterclass at the GIIS Singapore Campuses on April 23. A select group of musically inclined students from both the GIIS SMART Campus and GIIS East Coast Campus had the opportunity to deepen their musical understanding and gain invaluable insights by participating in the event. Covering everything from songwriting to vocal techniques, this workshop provided a rich experience for all participants.

A major highlight of the event was the selection of three students from the GIIS SMART Campus — Anoushka Tripathi from Grade 11, Mishika Tiwari from Class 6, and Akshara Kaushik from Kindergarten 1 — to join the Global School's Sheykhar Ravjiani School of Music. This unique initiative is a collaboration between the Global Schools Group and Mr. Sheykhar Ravjiani, nurtures budding musical talent using cutting-edge infrastructure and advanced technology. Students across GSG campuses worldwide benefit from access to this specialised curriculum designed to polish their skills and enhance their musical acumen.

The event also showcased vibrant student performances, from band ensembles to solo acts, demonstrating the depth of talent at the GIIS campuses. The showcase of talent at the auditions was truly awe-inspiring and earned well-deserved praise from Mr. Ravjiani himself. 

During the session, Mr. Ravjiani shared his experiences working with emerging talents through his indie record label, 'Garuudaa Musiic'. He highlighted his collaboration with Zehlin, a GIIS Abu Dhabi student, who debuted alongside him in the song "Ishq e Mariz."

This masterclass not only enriched the students' musical journeys but also served as a source of inspiration, drawing from Mr. Ravjiani’s extensive career. Such initiatives underscore the school's commitment to holistic development, fostering not only academic excellence but also extracurricular achievements.
