GIIS award students for academic and co-curricular excellence

This year’s Global School Awards, (GSA) ceremony was held in the Global Indian International School, Queenstown Campus auditorium with the parents of the awardees being invited to attend. The occasion was graced by esteemed guests - Ms. Paramita Tripathi, Deputy High Commissioner of India in the Republic of Singapore as the Guest of Honor with Mr. Atul Temurnikar, Chairman and Co-founder of GIIS Singapore, Mr. Rohit Ambekar, Director of Business and Strategy, Mr.Kaustabh Bodhankar, Deputy CEO, Mr.Promod Tripathi, Associate Director, Academics.


This event which was held on (Friday) 21 April, awarded the students from classes 3 to 8 (Session 2016-2017) who had achieved excellence in academics, co-curricular activities, sports and all-round excellence. The awards function is looked forward to by students, parents and teachers alike as it celebrates and recognizes the outstanding achievements of students in various fields.
The event commenced with a welcome song followed by a speech by Mr. Rohit Ambekar and Ms.Paramita Tripathi, who addressed the august assembly. The speeches emphasized the importance of acknowledging the various outstanding achievements of the students and the supporting roles played by their parents and the school.


Students of different grades were presented with awards based on their achievements. Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam GIIS Award for Academic Excellence and Subject Proficiencies were awarded to students who had exhibited exceptional performances in the field of academics. Chandrakanth Borde Award for students with achievements in the field of sports, Justice Dharmadhkari GIIS awards for Co-Curricular excellence and GSF Presidents award with all-round excellence.


The Global School Awards ceremony concluded with a Dance Performance by students followed by a Vote of Thanks and the singing of the National anthems of Singapore and India. This event is not only a platform for the recognition of the students who have reached great heights in their respective fields, but a further encouragement for them to continue to excel in whatever that they inspire to do and to recognize their determination and hard work.
