Renowned actor and politician Manoj Tiwari had a heart to heart session with students of Global Indian International School recently during which he shared his thoughts on leadership and on the younger generation’s contribution to shaping society.

“Hard work makes luck bow down to success”, Mr Tiwari said at the December 29, 2017 event which was part of our GIIS Leadership Lecture Series, held at the Queenstown Campus. The actor-turned-politician shared his own life story with the students, recalling how he never dreamt of going into politics, but that he has reached this status in life through sheer hard work and determination.

Mr Tiwari shot to fame as a popular actor and singer in Bhojpuri language films in India. After a highly successful stint in films, Mr Tiwari entered politics and is part of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party cadre. He heads the Delhi unit of the BJP.

Speaking to the students of IB year 1 and CBSE Grade 11, Mr Tiwari reminded them that in this 21st century, specialization is a very important talent to have. But, he also stressed that although it is important to focus on life’s goals, it is equally important to have proper priorities in life.  “It is important to focus on your goals, yet it is equally important for one to take time off and concentrate on what is truly important to be happy.”

Mr Tiwari himself, despite being busy as a politician, takes time off to compose music and to sing, which are his passions.

In the question and answer session that followed, students asked Mr Tiwari on what message he would like to give the youth of tomorrow. The politician said he found it commendable that the younger generation is thinking about their social responsibility and voicing their opinions in important issues.
