“Sports don’t build a character, they reveal it” - That is what sportsmen at GIIS Noida believe in. Sport games like Skating, Taekwondo, Badminton, Table Tennis, Chess, etc. have many followers. Children of all age groups follow sportsmen from various games, idolizing them and wanting to be like them, one fine day. Giving a platform, where children can practice and sweat out to be like their sport-idol is what GIIS Noida has been believing in, since day one.

A perfect example of this is the recent feature in our cap, where students of the school won numerous gold medals in the 2nd Delhi NCR Inter School Khel Mahotsav Roller Skating Championship-2016. The events were on based on age categories (Under-6, Under-8, Under-10, Under-11) and were held at the Chilla Sports Complex, Vasundhra Enclave, New Delhi. More than 10 schools and 200 students participated in the tournament, where students from GIIS Noida performed exceptionally well and showcased true sportsmanship.

Under the U-6 category: Manya, Shivika Sahu, and Bishal Dev Goswami won gold medals whereas Agrima Jain bagged a bronze medal in the same category. Further, Under 8 & 10 category: Khushi Chauhan and Ananya Shrivastva again bagged a gold medal each to their credit. Not leaving silver behind, Sameeksha Shrivastva won a silver medal under the U-11 category of the tournament.

Skating champs of the school enjoyed while giving a tough fight to their opponents. Not only did they get a chance to play in a real life scenario, but also acquired good amount of exposure as they met and conversed with various skating coaches. Not to forget the efforts put in by their Skating Coach, Mr. Sandeep who trained our little champs to perfection for months, and gave them the confidence to play at the tournament like pros.
