Global Indian International School (GIIS), Noida is pleased to share that students of our in-house heritage club i.e. DAROHAR Club under the mentorship of Ms. Jyoti Bisht have bagged the Heritage Club Award powered by INTACH. The award received was given on the basis of various activities conducted throughout the year, in order to promote and preserve Indian Heritage.

INTACH, also known as the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage is a non-profit organization that work towards preserving our country’s diverse art and heritage sites. Its mission is to protect the heritage and educate the youth to take up the responsibility of protecting and preserving it.

The academic year i.e. 2016-17 was a year of quite a few happenings and activities that aimed towards providing a better insight about the heritage of our country. Students were engaged in different kind of activities that included field trips, heritage walk, cultural programmes, FILMIT workshops and projects, celebrating special days like World Heritage Day,  Bastile Day, World  Health Day, Population and Pollution Day, etc.

Inspired by the vast heritage of our country, this year’s annual sports days and annual day celebrations were based on the same. GIIS Noida also conducted and hosted an Inter-GIIS Cultural event i.e. Jhankaar and IDOL 2017, which was again drew inspiration from the rich heritage of India.

Over the last three years GIIS Noida has the retained title of the Best Heritage Club Award. The school won second position in 2015, first position in 2016, and first position again in 2017. We hope to keep winning the award year after year and keep improving our efforts towards preserving the heritage of the country.
