7th Primary Annual Day – 2nd July 2016


2016 marked the 10th anniversary of Kuala Lumpur Campus. Over the past 10 years, GIIS KL has grown from a few hundred students into a vibrant school educating over 1500 students from numerous countries around the world.

To immortalize the 10 years the 7th Primary Annual Day was held on 2nd July 2016 entitled as Melange-Celebration. The theme befitted with the thought to express the years of growth.
Students across classes 1-5 assembled a resplendent pageant of music, dance and drama. No effort was spared and the result spoke for itself.

Mr Manoj Nair, Country Director presided over the function. The Chief Guest of the day was Datin Paduka Mother A Mangalam  the Life President of The Pure Life Society. The event was graced with the presence, Mr Manish Jain, Director of Operations and the Principal Mr Harvendra Singh Khalsa to encourage and celebrate the decade of GIIS KL. The emcees from Standard 3, 4 and 5 introduced the distinguished guests and were given a floral welcome by the primary students the progressive annual report highlighting the cultural achievements and enumerating the academic achievements of the students was read by the Principal of the school. Students were given awards for Academic Achievement and Staff were recognised for their achievements too.

The programme was an amalgamation of various hues and the students spread the colours of celebration and happiness. An array of scintillating dance performance portraying the 7 countries that GIIS operates from mesmerized everyone.

The journey began  in the Melting Pot - Singapore, moved to the Land of the Rising Sun – Japan, taking it  forward to the Destination of Distinction – Abu Dhabi, hopping  on to the Land of Smiles – Thailand, enjoying  the Endless Charm – Vietnam, celebrating  Truly Asia – Malaysia and finally ended  in Incredible India. Melodious vocals formed a part of this journey too.
To end the night on a high note, all students performed a fusion dance.

Proud parents gave a resounding ovation to fete the performers and their facilitators - the Coordinators, teachers, Choreographers, music teachers, the event managers, the nurses, the housekeeping and the office staff who went beyond their duties to make this night a success.
