The Investiture Ceremony for the newly elected members of the Student Council for the academic year 2016-2017, solemnized with a grand ceremony on 4th July, 2016 at Global Indian International School, Bangalore.  The Guest of Honour was Mrs. Gomathi H, who is a leading Scientist at ISRO, Bangalore. The function was presided over by the respected Principal of GIIS, Mr. Ganesh Sharma, the National Resource Coordinator Pre-Primary and Pre-Primary Coordinator Bangalore Mrs. Preetha D'Mello, The Academic Coordinator, Mrs. Aracha Sinha, the respective teachers and the proud parents of students taking the oath.

The celebrations commenced with a welcome note and an introduction of the honourable Chief Guest, enlisting her awards and amazing contribution as a Scientist.  The Lighting of the Lamp marked the auspicious moment of starting the investiture ceremony. The KG 2 children said the School prayer and the Grade 6 students sang the Welcome Song to create a blissful aura of peace, calm and positivity.

The Felicitation for Olympiads for Grades 7 and 8 along with Prize Distribution for the Helen O' Grady participants, the Spell Bee contest winners was witnessed with gleam and pride by everyone. The Student Council was given a happy welcome with the School Band played with respect. The Guest of Honor, The Principal and the Coordinators congratulated the council individually by pinning the badges based on their designations respectively. The Students Council had a 'Young GIIS' smart wonder champ representing the Pre-primary block. The Principal initiated the Oath, which was taken by all the students in the new council. The teachers, Mrs. Namrata Misra and Mrs. Banani Das Deka, were inducted as 'Prefect Mistress' for Classes 1-3 and Classes 4-8 respectively. The roles and responsibilities of the Student Council was summarised to the audience.

The Guest of Honour, Miss. Gomathi H spoke a few words of motivation for the students. She congratulated the students and emphasized on the need for discipline, the sense of responsibility and the source of motivation as team leaders. The Head Boy and Head Girl gave a powerful speech which was followed by the Lighting of the Candles. The radiance of the candles in their hands evoked the onset of the new leaders who will take the values of GIIS higher and help others imbibe the same. The Vote of Thanks was expressed for the contribution of the teachers, the admission team and the admin department for their commendable support and coordination. Finally, the National Anthem marked the rise of a new group of highly enthusiastic students of GIIS, all set to take steps toward becoming inspiring global leaders of tomorrow.
