GIIS Bangalore hosts 'Inter-GIIS All India Math Quiz'; Noida bags the first spot

Mathematics is the music of reason. It is the most beautiful and most powerful creation of the human spirit. Maths is always a friend for the mind and numbers are every human’s daily sight in some form or the other. Global Indian International School, Bangalore hosted the All India Math Quiz competition as a part of Global Indian International School (GIIS) Global Student Exchange Program through Webex.

Students from Grade 6 to 8 of the four campuses of GIIS - Ahmedabad, Indore, Noida and Surat participated with full enthusiasm and good preparation. The hosting team comprised of Allen as the Quiz Master, Sameeksha Menon as the Quiz Mistress, supported by Rishik Pavani as the Scorer, Siddharth Dey as the Data Manipulator, Nikhil Upadhayay as the Time manager, and Sri Uma & Himanish Sarkar as the Technical experts.

The quiz was based on basic mathematical concepts, proficiency and reasoning. There were 5 rounds namely - ‘Choose the Magic Number’, ‘Reasoning’, ‘Visual Round’, ‘Riddles’ and the final ‘Rapid Fire’ round. All the teams were given the flexibility to play the rounds in order, except in the Rapid Fire round. The quiz began with lot of excitement and anticipation. The competition was a good experience for all the teams and the students showed their mathematical knowledge with confidence.  The final results were as follows:

The quiz was an attempt to prepare young minds for a journey to the world of mathematics. Since Maths is an indispensable part of everyone’s life, it is good to see the interest among the students. In fact there are so many interesting teaching methodologies adopted by GIIS teachers in order to bring creative teaching and impart logical learning techniques among students of all age groups.
