An open cricket tournament was held at Whitefield where around 10 club teams participated. 15 students of Grades 4 to 8 from GIIS Whitefield participated in the event. The GIIS team led by Captain Rohit of Grade 8 bagged 1st place in the tournament. With unwavering determination, they outplayed their opponents and secured the championship title with ease. The team was coached and mentored by Mr. Syed Irfan Badshah, the cricket coach, ably supported by the Sports Coordinator Mr. Sathish.

Sporting events help promote the spirit of sportsmanship, camaraderie and collaboration in students. This is a very important life skill that will serve them well in all walks of life. They learn how to synergise with each other towards a common goal. This victory is truly a shining example of the maxim, “Teamwork makes the dream work.”
