GIIS Ahmedabad welcomes the New Year 2024 with a focus on excellence and holistic development

Dear Parents,

Greetings from GIIS Ahmedabad!

“The new beginning brings on new adventures!”

The month of January 2024 was extraordinary for GIIS Ahmedabad. From sports to academics, GIIS Ahmedabad students have proved their mettle in every aspect of holistic learning and development.

I am thrilled to announce that GIIS Ahmedabad hosted the second edition of Alumni Connect - Homecoming 2.0 with more than 70 former -students and teachers. The rendezvous was conducted on the theme ‘M3 – Moonstruck, Masquerade, Marvels’ to celebrate GIIS Ahmedabad’s 10th anniversary. The former students and teachers thoroughly enjoyed the program that engaged them in skits, comedy, fun-filled activities, singing, and dance performances. The students wrote a short goodbye note with a promise to meet again next year.

I am excited to announce that GIIS Ahmedabad has launched Afterschool Academy offering advanced-level coaching and specialized training programs in Karate, Skating, Martial Arts, Cricket, Football, Dance, Guitar, Tabla, and other activities for K2 to Grade 9 students. We are constantly striving to introduce more relevant programmes such as STEM skills, Bharatnatyam and many others.

A recent achievement by our future grandmaster – Aditri Shome became a champion by winning Gujarat State U-17 Inter-School Chess Selection under the girls category. Aditri scored 4.6 points out of 6 and has been shortlisted for a national competition, to be held in Bihar. Her extraordinary skills, hard work, perseverance and dedication have made her an epitome of excellence on our GIIS campus.

Our extraordinary students have outperformed in Khel MahaKumbh competitions for Chess and Athletics. Three girls and boys from U-14 and U-17 categories have qualified for district level competition of Athletics. Aditri Shome has secured 2nd position in the U-14 girls category and has been selected for state state-level chess tournament. Our U-14 girls secured third position and senior category girls secured second position in the Khel MahaKumbh district-level competition.

Apart from sports, on the occasion of Pariksha Pe Charcha, Grade 9 students participated in the painting competition organized by PM Shri Kendriya Vidhyalaya School.

We also celebrated the 75th Republic Day on campus. The GIIS admin staff and sports team came together to pay tribute to the Constitution of India. The students of the Grade 1E morning shift conducted an assembly on the theme ‘Mera Desh Meri Pehchan.’ Through the assembly, they shared the valuable contribution of our freedom fighters in bringing about this important milestone.

Ultimately, I would like to remind students that the February calendar indicates the most-awaited event of the year – Annual Day and Carnival. GIIS Ahmedabad invites all the students to participate in the Annual Day and Carnival to exhibit their skills on a platform that values participation and talent galore.

Lastly, I want to express my gratitude to parents and teachers for always believing in us and wishing you all a healthy, happy and prosperous new year ahead.

Warm Regards,

Caesar D’silva,

Principal, GIIS Ahmedabad
