Over 70 former students and teachers of Global Indian International School (GIIS), Ahmedabad came together at the campus to attend the one-of-its-kind event, Homecoming 2.0 - Alumni Connect. The rendezvous was conducted with the theme ‘M3 - Moonstruck, Masquerade, Marvels’ to celebrate GIIS Ahmedabad’s 10th anniversary.

The alumni connect session saw the participation of grade 12 students who have completed their class 12th from GIIS Ahmedabad. From the founder teachers to the current ones, all the staff members came under one roof to enjoy the evening and cherish the memories created on the campus. The guests were excited and astonished by the greetings received from their colleagues, teachers and others. 

The former students and teachers thoroughly enjoyed the program that engaged them with skits, comedy, fun-filled activities, singing, and dance performances. Alumni students and ex-teachers were also encouraged to share their ‘those were the days’ experiences and memories they had at GIIS Ahmedabad. They all danced to the party songs to relive the days of happiness with their friends. Lastly, with a heavy heart, students wrote a short goodbye note expressing their gratitude to the school, teachers, and staff members.

Here are some of the notes that made us emotional and misty-eyed:

Manan Gupta, an alumnus from the 2022-23 batch and now a BITS Pilani student shared, “I had some great memories which I have cherished in GIIS Ahmedabad like night outs, classroom fun with batchmates, among others. Coming back to school as an alumnus has made me feel nostalgic. I think I am reliving those memories like a flashback.”

Moksh Bhatnagar from the 2021-2022 batch said, “The alumni connect was a journey down memory lane as last time. I was very excited to meet all of my friends from school and all my teachers too. Recalling cherished moments, and realizing how much we’ve grown since our school days made the event truly special. I was a little disheartened that I couldn’t meet all the teachers that have taught me. Still, apart from that I enjoyed the event overall and I look forward to attending many more alumni connect meets.”

The founder teacher of GMP, Ms. Afsha Sheikh said, “We have so many memories to reflect upon. One of the best memories is the birthday celebrations. GIIS Ahmedabad has bestowed so much love and blessings. I feel so blessed to have completed 8 years of service at GIIS. “

The event was a massive success with alumni and teachers. At the end of the event, they took back a bunch of memories, smiles and happiness.
