In the vibrant tapestry of the educational landscape, GIIS Ahmedabad students have emerged as champions in the Sports For All (SFA) Tournament through their unwavering dedication and rigorous practices. GIIS Ahmedabad is delighted to share the victorious journey of GIISians in various sports such as Chess, Basketball, Football, Athletics and Swimming.

Sports For All (SFA) is India’s largest multi-sport grassroots sports competition platform which provides equal opportunities to young sports enthusiasts to fall in love with sports through inspiring and joyful sporting experiences. 

SFA Chess Tournament

GIIS Ahmedabad chess champions have again proved their mettle in the prestigious SFA Chess Tournament. We are extremely proud to share that Aditri Shome and Margi Chudasama, have won gold and silver medals in the U-15 Girls category. In the U-13 Boys category, Aarav Kumar bagged 3rd position and won a bronze medal, while Aatman Raval stood 1st in the U-15 Boys category and won a gold medal. 

With the performances of our students, SFA recognised GIIS Ahmedabad as the ‘Best School in Sports in Chess with 15 points (2 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals). GIIS Ahmedabad is extremely proud of our champions.

SFA Basketball Tournament

GIIS Ahmedabad’s basketball team added a noteworthy feather to our cap by winning the SFA Champions. Our U-14 boys team won the title of champions by defeating Rachna School in the finals with a score of 30-8.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to our outstanding basketball team, Rudra Bundiwal, Vinayak Pathak, Agastya Tripathi, Rachit Mishra, Diyan Shah. Shresth Sharma, Karan Bhavsar, and Aman Yadav for making us proud. We wish them good luck in achieving even more remarkable milestones in the future.

SFA Football Tournament

We are extremely delighted to share that GIIS Ahmedabad’s football team won accolades for their wonderful performance in the SFA tournament. With remarkable precision in their kicks, finesse in the tackles and unwavering spirit, the GIIS Ahmedabad U-10 boys football team became the 2nd Runner-Up in the SFA tournament. They triumphed over all the big schools and defeated Rachna School with a score of 2-0.

SFA Athletics Tournament

GIIS Ahmedabad bagged a total of 5 medals in the Sports For All - SFA Championship Tournament for Athletics in U-18, U-12 and U-14 categories. Congratulations to all the winners and their mentors for their rigorous hard work and dedication. They are the true GEMS of GIIS.

• Sanskar Patil, grade 12 (Science stream) bagged 1st position in the 800mt in the U-18 boys category
• Sneha Chaudhary, grade 11 secured 2nd position in 100mt in the U-18 girls category
• Daksh Shivlani secured 2nd position in the 1500mt race in the U-18 boys category
• Hardik Kumar competed in the U-12 category and secured 2nd position in 100mt
• Jenish Patel earned 3rd position in U-14 category boys in 100mt race

SFA Swimming Tournament

Ritesh Yadav, our aquatic prodigy at GIIS Ahmedabad, sweeps the SFA Swimming Tournament by winning 1st position in the 100m backstroke. This spectacular victory has been possible with Ritesh’s dedication and unmatched talent which has made us immensely proud. We extend our heartfelt wishes and unwavering support for his forthcoming tournaments.

Our Principal, Mr. Caesar D’silva met all the young sports enthusiasts to motivate them. He said, “Our GIIS Ahmedabad champs showed that with their right stride, every hurdle becomes a stepping stone to success. It is commendable that these students have achieved such milestones at an early age. These medals are a result of their hard work, dedication, rigorous practice and patience. Gratitude and kudos to all the sports teachers, coordinators, and parents for their constant guidance and support.”
