Eminent guests visit the campus and interact with students

TOKYO, 10 SEPTEMBER, 2018: The students were presented with motivating books and were encouraged to participate towards the cause of environmental care as 3 eminent guests – Mr Tadahiko ITO, State Minister of the Environment Japan, His Excellency, Mr Sujan R. Chinoy, India’s Ambassador to Japan and the renowned Japanese author, Ms Mariko Shinju, visited the campus on 3rd September.

Mr Tadahiko ITO presented to the students, the popular Japanese children’s book ‘Mottainai Grandma’, written by Ms Mariko Shinju. The book that is based on the subject of wastefulness, was released in Hindi and English languages earlier this year in India by Japan International Cooperation Agency. Littering has become a serious problem in many developing nations, including India. A ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ has been launched by the present Indian Government to address the issue of littering and maintaining cleanliness. The book, ‘Mottainai Grandma’, creates awareness against wastefulness and teaches the lessons of maintaining the environment.

Another great book based on the life of Mahatma Gandhi was presented to the students by Honourable Ambassador, Mr Chinoy. Both Mr Chinoy and Mr Tadahiko then addressed the students and highlighted the importance of environmental care.

The School’s Principal, Ms Rajeswary Sambathrajan, Associate Director Operations, Mr Prashant Bafna and Vice Principal, Mr Sandeep Singh were also present at the event.

Ms Rajeswary Sambathrajan later presented tokens of appreciation to the distinguished guests who then signed the Visitor Message Cards at the request of the senior students. The event concluded with the eminent guests and school authorities mingling over a tea session.
