The students of GIIS Tokyo, NK campus celebrated International Hindi Diwas Day on 10th January in Indian Embassy 2023.
They spoke about the importance of the Awadhi Language, which is currently considered a dialect or Bolis of Hindi because it is spoken in geographically smaller regions and doesn’t have its scripts. Awadhi has a rich vocabulary of Sanskrit, Arabic, and Persian words, which is why Tulsidas used it beautifully and wrote the Ramcharitmanas in the Awadhi language.
Students also recited the famous poem by Narottam Das (AD 1550-1605) describing the story of Sudama, a close friend of Lord Krishna. The story spoke about how Sudama lived in poverty, and his wife constantly prodded him to visit Lord Krishna in Dwarka for some financial help. Sudama felt reluctant to ask for money from a friend, but he finally relented.
Students sang a beautiful poem explaining the importance of language, and they narrated a beautiful Hindi folk tale called Panchhi Bola Chaar Prhar.
Each story teaches us something directly or indirectly, from this story, the students explained the Chaar Prhar and provided the moral message that one can learn from a small bird too.
