To celebrate the recent Hari Raya Aidilfitri in Malaysia, a season cherished for its spirit of forgiveness, cultural heritage, and the warmth of community gatherings, GIIS KL welcomed back our students from their short breaks with a celebration that was just as heartfelt. By doing so, the school set a cheerful and joyous tone, ensuring the session began with a true sense of togetherness and excitement across both curricula. The morning was anchored by an inspiring address from our Principal, Ms. Dipti Joshna, who looked ahead at the fresh academic chapter; especially for the CBSE division, with a vision of growth. She shared exciting updates on new school improvements and initiatives designed to enrich the student experience for everyone on campus. In an ever-changing world, Ms. Dipti encouraged every student to step out of their comfort zone by joining more than one extracurricular activity, helping them stay adaptable and prepared for an evolving future. Most importantly, she reminded the students that they never have to navigate these challenges alone, as the teachers at GIIS KL are committed to being a constant source of guidance and support throughout their journey here. The festive energy then flowed into a spectacular showcase of student talent that bridged both the CBSE and Cambridge sections. Raghul from Cambridge Year 7 opened the festivities with a soulful, melodious song that captured the peace of the season, followed by an insightful segment from Class 8 CBSE students, who shared the spiritual significance and beautiful traditions of Hari Raya. The stage then transformed into a vibrant runway led by Akshara of Year 7, the former Ms. Cambridge (Primary), as students from Classes 1 to 10 paraded in stunning traditional attire. This celebration of cultural fashion was followed by a high-energy traditional Malay dance performed by Class 10 CBSE, perfectly reflecting the "Visual and Performing Arts" gem of the GIIS 9GEMS philosophy. To make this milestone assembly truly unforgettable, GIIS KL added a sweet touch by distributing festive Raya cookies to every student, teacher, and staff member. As the assembly concluded with warm greetings and shared smiles, the message was clear: the journey ahead is officially in motion. It is set to be a year filled with support, vibrant opportunities, and a deep appreciation for our diverse, multi-syllabus community.
