“Our primary concern is the safety of our children” — with this guiding thought, the GMP segment of GIIS Hadapsar enthusiastically celebrated ‘Safety Week’, creating awareness among young learners about the importance of safety in everyday life through a series of engaging and meaningful activities. The week-long celebration aimed at nurturing responsible attitudes and behaviour among children, helping them understand the significance of being safe at home, in school, on the playground, while travelling, and on the roads. Teachers thoughtfully designed interactive sessions that encouraged children to actively participate, learn, and practice important safety protocols in a fun-filled environment.Through stories with morals, songs, rhymes, and simple hands-on activities, the young learners were introduced to essential safety rules and practices. The activities helped children understand how safety is not just a rule but a habit that must be followed every day.One of the most enjoyed themes during the week was Road Safety. Children enthusiastically learned about traffic rules such as obeying stop signs and traffic lights, wearing seatbelts and helmets, maintaining safe distances, following speed limits, and understanding why driving without a licence is unsafe. The sessions were designed to make learning enjoyable and relatable for the little ones.As part of Fire Safety awareness, students were taken on an exciting field trip to the Amanora Fire Station, where they got an opportunity to witness real-life fire safety practices and understand the role of firefighters in protecting the community. The visit left the children fascinated and more aware about emergency safety measures.Adding to the experiential learning, teachers also organised a creative pretend-play session on Stranger Danger. Familiar settings such as a home, a shopping mall, and a playground were recreated to help children identify safe and unsafe situations and learn how to respond appropriately. The school strongly believes that children learn best through participation and experience. By actively involving students in creating and understanding the safety theme throughout the week, the programme successfully left a lasting impression on their young minds. The simple message of “ABC – Always Be Careful” became an easy yet powerful takeaway for the children.Through initiatives like Safety Week, GIIS Hadapsar continues to foster awareness, responsibility, and life skills among students, reinforcing the belief that “Safety Is a Choice We Make.”

Students of Grades 3 to 5 at GIIS Hadapsar recently participated in an exciting and engaging “Math Magic Activity” aimed at strengthening their understanding of place value concepts through interactive learning. The session began with a quick revision of the basics of place value, helping students refresh their understanding before moving on to the hands-on activity. Adding an element of fun and excitement, students rolled dice multiple times — four, five, six, or even seven times — to generate random digits. Using these digits, they created numbers of varying lengths and explored different ways of representing them.As part of the activity, students were guided to express their numbers in three different forms — Standard Form, Expanded Form, and Word Form. For example, students converted numbers such as 1,23,456 into expanded form as 1,00,000 + 20,000 + 3,000 + 400 + 50 + 6, and also represented them in words as “One lakh twenty-three thousand four hundred fifty-six.”After completing the task, students carefully reviewed their work to ensure accuracy in all three representations. The activity not only reinforced their understanding of number formation and place value but also encouraged attention to detail and mathematical precision. The “Math Magic Activity” successfully helped students enhance their mathematical thinking, improve their ability to convert numbers into different formats, and build confidence in applying these concepts in practical situations.Overall, the activity transformed mathematics into an enjoyable learning experience. By combining play with education, GIIS Hadapsar once again demonstrated its commitment to making classroom learning meaningful, engaging, and effective for young learners.
