This educational model focuses on nurturing well-rounded individuals through nine distinct pillars of growth; this event specifically highlighted Gem 4 (Personality Development), Gem 6 (Entrepreneurship & Leadership), Gem 7 (Universal Values and Ethics), and Gem 8 (Community and Care). These gems help students connect academic learning with character, leadership, and ethical values.Furthermore, the students expertly linked his historical contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which serve as a global blueprint for a fairer, more sustainable world. They connected his advocacy for education to SDG 4 (Quality Education), his efforts to bridge societal gaps to SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and his pursuit of a peaceful, inclusive society to SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions). This thoughtful presentation left the audience with a deep appreciation for a leader whose vision for a united nation remains a cornerstone of modern Malaysia.

Glendale Academy Hosts Bollywood Music Composer Shekhar Ravjiani for an Inspiring Leadership Lecture Series & Workshop

At Glendale Academy, Monday - 6th April wasn’t just another school day. It was a moment where curiosity met opportunity and something truly magical unfolded. As part of the Global Schools Group’s Leadership Lecture Series, students got an opportunity to be a part an interaction that went beyond textbooks. When the famous Bollywood music composer Shekhar Ravjiani stepped in, he didn’t just speak about music, he spoke about purpose, the art of true passion, and the madness to pursue what you love with full devotion and grit.He spoke about discipline, about authenticity, about finding your own voice in a world full of noise. And suddenly, music wasn’t just a subject, it became a journey. The room shifted from a classroom into a dynamic space, where students didn’t just listen but actively engaged, questioned, and experimented. Through a hands-on workshop, they explored vocal techniques, rhythm and expression, and the confidence required to own a stage. It wasn’t about getting every note perfect, it was about truly feeling the music.Because as Shekhar shared, what truly matters isn’t perfection, it’s honesty. One of the most exciting moments of the day came when a few students were selected for the Global Schools Shekhar Ravjiani School of Music. For them, this wasn’t just recognition. It was a doorway, a chance to learn directly from the maestro himself, to refine their craft and to take their passion seriously. And for every other student in the room, it was a glimpse of what’s possible when passion is given the right platform. This is what learning looks like at Glendale, not confined to books or limited to exams, but expanded through experiences that build confidence, perspective, and real-world understanding. Because when students interact with people who have truly lived their craft, something shifts, they don’t just learn, they begin to believe.By the end of the session, it wasn’t just about music anymore. It was about expression. About courage. About discovering a part of yourself you didn’t know existed. And maybe that’s what made the day unforgettable. Because sometimes, all it takes is one interaction…to change the way you see your future. About GSSROMGlobal Schools Group (GSG), a leading international network of schools known for its commitment to excellence in education, partnered with acclaimed composer-singer Shekhar Ravjiani in 2020 to establish the Global Schools–Shekhar Ravjiani School of Music. This pioneering collaboration between a global education network and a celebrated Indian musician introduced a first-of-its-kind, specialised programme dedicated to nurturing and mentoring emerging musical talent.Global Schools Shekhar Ravjiani School of Music offers structured training in music theory, vocal development, performance skills, and music production, supported by both virtual and in-person mentorship.
GIIS KL Welcomes Families for the 2026-2027 CBSE Academic Year Orientations

As the 2026-2027 CBSE academic year dawns, GIIS KL has once again reinforced its commitment to academic excellence and holistic growth. While our Cambridge curriculum students are currently navigating the rigors of their second term, the CBSE wing has officially embarked on a fresh journey. To ensure a seamless transition and a unified vision, the school hosted a series of comprehensive Parent Orientation sessions for Standards 1 through 11 between March 30 and March 31, 2026. Held in the vibrant setting of the school auditorium, these sessions served as a vital bridge between home and school, emphasizing that a child’s success is a collaborative masterpiece painted by both parents and educators. Our Standards 1 and 2 orientation began on March 31 with an energy that was nothing short of infectious. The orientation focused on the "secret sauce" of education: the partnership between the school and the family. Guided by the principles of the National Education Policy (NEP) and the CBSE framework, the curriculum for these foundation years is designed to nurture creativity and competency-based learning. Parents were briefed on a classroom approach that balances core literacy and numeracy with play-based inquiry. The school emphasized a continuous and comprehensive assessment model that values social skills and daily participation as much as periodic tests. In a touch of practical guidance, parents were also introduced to the MyGIIS portal and the HeyMath platform, ensuring they are well-equipped to support their children’s digital learning journey from day one.As students progress into Standards 3, 4, and 5, the focus shifts toward developing a more robust academic and personal identity. Across sessions held on March 30 and 31, the Senior Segment Coordinator provided deep insights into the evolving subject expectations and assessment patterns. This middle-primary stage is heavily aligned with the GIIS 9GEMS framework, a proprietary holistic teaching methodology that balances academics with eight other pillars of character and skill development. The orientation highlighted how the curriculum is designed to meet United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 4 (Quality Education), by fostering an inclusive environment where students are encouraged to explore enrichment activities alongside their core subjects. For the students in Standards 6, 7, and 8, the orientation took on a more preparatory tone, acknowledging the critical transition into secondary education. The sessions welcomed both new and existing families into a structured academic framework that emphasizes high aspirations and community care. Teachers presented a detailed roadmap of the academic year, covering everything from complex assessment methods to student support services and extracurricular opportunities. This segment is deeply rooted in the 9GEMS of Academic Excellence and Visual Arts, aiming to produce well-rounded individuals ready for global challenges. By aligning school policies with UN SDGs like Reduced Inequalities and Peace and Justice, the orientation made it clear that GIIS KL is not just teaching subjects, but is instead nurturing the responsible citizens of tomorrow. The momentum continued with a specialized orientation for Standards 9 and 11, held on the morning of March 30. This session was meticulously designed to welcome students and parents to the most pivotal stages of their academic journey. The event commenced with a welcoming speech that set an upbeat, purposeful atmosphere, followed by comprehensive presentations from the Senior Segment Coordinator and faculty. These presentations offered parents and students a deep dive into the rigorous academic framework, subject-specific expectations, and the nuanced assessment structures that define the senior years.Beyond academics, the session highlighted the school’s robust student support services and the wealth of co-curricular opportunities available to foster a balanced lifestyle. This initiative strongly supports SDG 4 (Quality Education) by promoting inclusive engagement and is intricately woven with several 9GEMS, including Gem 4 (Personality Development), Gem 7 (Universal Values and Ethics), and Gem 9 (Skill Development). By informing parents about communication methods and key guidelines, the school ensured that the support system for these senior students remains unbreakable.Across all grade levels, the common thread was the inspiring presence of the school leadership and the dedicated faculty. Our Principal, Ms. Dipti Joshna, delivered closing addresses throughout the series that underscored the necessity of school-home collaboration. She reminded parents that their support is the cornerstone of the school’s holistic development plan, calling on all students to aim high and utilize the vast array of opportunities provided by the GIIS ecosystem to become the leaders of a sustainable future.
