The kindergarten classrooms turned into vibrant culinary spaces on July 28, 2026, as young learners participated in the hands-on "Jr. Chef: Vegetables Salad" activity. Designed to foster independence and promote wellness from an early age, the event gave every kindergarten student the opportunity to become a chef for the day while learning the fundamentals of wholesome nutrition.Throughout the session, the children actively engaged in every step of the food preparation process. They began by carefully washing fresh vegetables, learning the importance of kitchen hygiene. Working alongside their peers, the young chefs tore crisp lettuce leaves into bite-sized pieces and utilized child-safe knives to slice soft ingredients. The activity culminated in everyone mixing their prepared ingredients together in large bowls, crafting colorful salads that they proudly shared and enjoyed as a community.Beyond creating a delicious snack, the activity served as a practical application of vital life lessons. By handing the measuring, chopping, and mixing over to the students, the event effectively strengthened their fine motor skills, self-reliance, and basic culinary abilities. Working together in small groups naturally encouraged teamwork, communication, and a shared appreciation for nutritious food choices. This interactive experience directly aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by instilling lifelong healthy habits early on. Additionally, it brought key elements of the 9 Gems framework to life, specifically emphasizing Innovation and Creativity, practical Life Skills, and Collaboration. By blending practical skill-building with health education, the Jr. Chef activity offered our youngest students a memorable, empowering experience that extended far beyond the classroom.

GIIS Nagpur Hosts iPlay Dental Clinic Activity to Instill Lifelong Oral Hygiene Habits

Global Indian International School Nagpur, organised the iPlay Dental Clinic Activity, an interactive initiative designed to introduce young learners to the fundamentals of oral hygiene in a fun and engaging way. The activity, tailored across the Nursery, K1, and K2 age groups, combined storytelling, hands-on practice, and guided learning to help children build healthy dental habits from an early age.The session opened with an informative storytelling segment for Nursery students, where educators used narrative and visual aids to introduce the concept of healthy teeth and why oral care matters. The storytelling format allowed young children to absorb the message through characters and simple, relatable scenarios rather than direct instruction.K1 students moved into the Brushing the Teeth Activity, a hands-on session focused on demonstrating the correct brushing technique. Rather than simply being told how to brush, children practiced the motion themselves, reinforcing muscle memory alongside the underlying lesson — that consistent, correct brushing is the first line of defense against cavities and gum issues. For K2 students, the session took the form of the Take Out the Cavity Activity, a more conceptual exercise that helped children understand how cavities form and why neglecting dental hygiene has consequences. By making the cause-and-effect relationship tangible, the activity aimed to shift dental care from an abstract rule to something children could reason through themselves.Across all three groups, the broader objective remained consistent: to introduce healthy lifestyle habits — brushing twice a day, eating nutritious food, and visiting the dentist regularly — while keeping the learning experience age-appropriate and enjoyable. The activity was structured to build not just awareness but confidence and curiosity, encouraging children to take ownership of their own hygiene practices rather than treating it as an externally imposed rule.Faculty members involved in the activity noted that early-years health education works best when it's experiential rather than lecture-driven, which shaped the choice of storytelling and activity-based formats over traditional instruction. The iPlay Dental Clinic Activity concluded successfully, with children leaving the session with both a clearer understanding of dental care and a positive association with the process of learning about it. GIIS Nagpur continues to integrate such experiential learning initiatives into its early-years curriculum, reinforcing the school's broader commitment to holistic development — one that extends beyond academics into health, self-care, and everyday life skills.

With bright smiles and boundless enthusiasm, they recited lines in various languages, matching the unfamiliar sounds with expressive hand actions and natural rhythmic movements. Group rhyme recitations transformed the classroom into a supportive, collaborative space, making the linguistic exploration both deeply engaging and accessible for every young learner.Beyond the catchy cadences, the activity served a crucial developmental purpose.
Hands-On Discovery: How GIIS KL Kindergarteners Connect with Nature

At GIIS KL Kindergarten, learning goes far beyond traditional textbooks. Early childhood development thrives on tactile, hands-on experiences that engage a child's natural curiosity while building essential developmental foundations. On 27th July 2026, the kindergarten classroom transformed into a vibrant hub of discovery as young learners participated in a delightful sensory activity: plucking green leaves using their fingers. This seemingly simple exercise was carefully designed to support crucial milestones in early physical and cognitive growth. Guided gently by their teachers, the students focused on using their thumb and index fingers to pluck individual leaves from plants and place them carefully into containers. Through these delicate movements, the children actively strengthened their fine motor skills and perfected their pincer grip, the exact muscular control required for holding pencils, using scissors, and mastering future writing tasks. Beyond physical dexterity, the exercise sharpened hand-eye coordination and nurtured deep concentration as the little ones handled each leaf with care. This activity perfectly exemplifies GIIS KL’s commitment to holistic early education, seamlessly aligning with Gem 9 (Skill Development) of the school's award-winning 9 Gems framework and supporting UN Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education. By integrating nature into the classroom, children not only build core physical competencies but also foster an early love and respect for the natural world. At GIIS KL, every classroom moment is an intentional stepping stone toward building confident, capable, and curious learners!

Laughter and learning spilled across the GIIS KL field on July 24, 2026, as our kindergartners gathered for a vibrant session of water play focusing on the activity of transferring water. The open field transformed into an energetic arena of discovery, where young learners eagerly stepped up to take on hands-on challenges designed to turn simple play into meaningful skill development. The highlight of the event was a water relay game that kept every child actively engaged. Working in small groups, the students carefully saturated sponges with water, squeezed every drop into their containers, and synchronized their efforts to pass a pail of water to the teammate lined up behind them. Navigating the field with steady hands and careful footsteps, the children practiced spatial awareness, physical balance, and seamless teamwork, cheering one another on with every successful transfer.Beyond the refreshing excitement, the activity served a core developmental purpose.
Seventeen Students, One Vision made GIIS Noida’s MUN 2.0 A Grand Success

It started, as most good things at GIIS Noida do, with an idea and a lot of late-night online meetings. Back in May, a group of seventeen students decided they wanted to give Principal Mr. Ganesh Sharma's vision a real shape — a Model United Nations conference that students would not just attend, but actually run. Under the steady guidance of MUN Coordinator Ms. Vaishali Singh, that idea slowly turned into GIISNOIDA MUN 2.0, and by the time it was over, on the 1st of August 2026, it had turned into something the whole school would remember. The early weeks were less about glamour and more about groundwork. The newly formed Secretariat, led by Secretary General Akshat Sharma and Deputy Secretary General Ipshita Paliwal, divided themselves into teams — finance, marketing, academics, design, cultural affairs, public relations, delegate affairs, logistics, and the organising committee — and got to work. There was a logo to design, a brochure to write, an Instagram page to fill with reels, and a website to build. Slowly, the committees took shape, registration forms went live, and delegates began signing up. Somewhere in between, the team was also chasing sponsors, planning the catering, working out a budget that covered everything from delegate kits to cash prizes, and interviewing students for a spot on the Executive Board. By the time the event days arrived, every placard, badge, and marksheet had already been thought through. On the morning of 31st July, delegates walked in dressed in Indian formals, checked in at the registration desk, and made their way up to committee rooms that had been carefully set up on the third floor. The opening ceremony in the MPH began with a lamp lighting, and the audience sat back for performances that clearly took months of practice — an instrumental piece and a dance act that had the whole hall watching closely. Four proud alumni of the school, now a data scientist, an economics scholar, a finance student, and an engineering-student-turned-entrepreneur, came back to share how far their own MUN days had taken them. Then Akshat Sharma declared the conference open, and the real work began. Delegates spent the rest of the day in committee, debating, drafting, and arguing their positions across two sessions, before winding down with a lively evening of socials and high tea.Day two picked up where day one left off — breakfast, committee session, lunch, and one final round of debate that brought each committee to a close. Senior Supreme Court lawyer Mr. Manmeet Singh Gulati arrived as chief guest for the closing ceremony and walked through the committee rooms before the event moved back to the MPH. That's where the results were announced — Verbal Mentions, Special Mentions, a High Commendation, and Best Delegate awards, each carrying a medal or trophy and, for the top two, a cash prize. The evening closed with more dance performances, a solo song backed by a live band, a short address from Director General Arnav Rathi, and a vote of thanks that brought the whole conference full circle. What stayed behind once the placards were packed away wasn't just the memory of a well-run event — it was the confidence the students walked away with. The ones who spent months coordinating logistics and chasing sponsors learned what it actually takes to pull off something this big, and the delegates who argued their countries' positions across two days picked up a kind of composure that doesn't come from a textbook. GIIS Noida’s MUN 2.0 wasn't really about the awards on the final evening. It was about a group of students deciding to lead, and doing it well enough that everyone else took notice.

July, The Month of Learning Continium: Adapting Seamlessly, Leading Courageously

Dear Parents,Greetings from GIIS Ahmedabad!July has proven to be a defining month for our school community. It is marked by adaptability, emergent leadership, and a renewed commitment to foundational skills. In education, true excellence is not tested when everything runs smoothly, but when we are called to adapt seamlessly. Learning Continium — when severe monsoon weather and waterlogging challenged our city, our priority remained clear: keeping learning uninterrupted while ensuring our children’s safety. Switching to our virtual classrooms within hours wasn’t just a logistical execution by our teachers and leadership team; it was a testament to our community’s resilience. It also demonstrated that no weather challenges can affect children’s education at GIIS Ahmedabad.Seeing our young learners celebrate Virtual Friendship Day during that phase by exchanging handmade bands, sketches, and digital warm wishes across screens reminded us that meaningful connections and emotional growth transcend physical boundaries.Building on this spirit of community, July also marked one of our most prestigious events: the Investiture Ceremony for the Academic Year 2026–27 across both our Morning and Noon shifts. Swearing in our Student Council members, House Captains, Class Prefects, and Disciplinary Teams was a proud moment for all of us. Having distinguished leaders: Mr Renjith G and Lt. (Dr) Gaurav Singh Kushwah, as our chief guests, inspired our students and reinforced a core GIIS value: leadership is not about titles, but about accountability, service, and guiding peers by example. This momentum was further amplified through the GIIS Youth Lecture Series, where four of our talented alumni returned to campus to guide and inspire our upcoming board exam batches. Additionally, we welcomed our newest families into our early childhood framework through the interactive GMP Familiarisation Workshop, laying a strong foundation for home-school partnership. Our vibrant culture of experiential learning and student-led assemblies shone brightly across all grade levels this month. Our assemblies served as powerful platforms for critical thinking and national pride, with Grade 7A (MS) tackling "AI: Friend or Foe," Grade 5E (MS) addressing digital balance, Grade 5A (MS) honouring Kargil Vijay Diwas, and Grade 2C (AS) celebrating Van Mahotsav Day.Additionally, joy and imagination took centre stage as Grade 1A (MS) presented "The Power of Imagination & Play." Grade 2A (MS) celebrated International Moon Day, International Chess Day, and National Ice-Cream Day, and our GMP kindergarteners spread smiles on World Emoji Day.Beyond the stage, Grade 3 (MS) students engaged in an impactful Walk Drive and upcycled waste materials into masks and props for a hands-on Food Chain Role Play. Our students also spent meaningful time in our library reading spaces. They discovered socio-emotional growth through a powerful lesson on kindness that, just like squeezed-out toothpaste, harsh words once spoken can never be taken back.Together, these diverse experiences vividly demonstrate the core of our 9 Gems Framework—balancing Academic Excellence, Sports, Innovation, Values, Leadership, and Universal Ethics. As we reach the midpoint of the year, we are excited for the upcoming events in the months ahead, reaffirming our commitment to providing every child with the platforms they need to showcase their unique talents and skills. We look forward to a memorable academic year ahead filled with happiness, success, and transformative learning as we continue to nurture tomorrow’s global citizens.Warm Regards,Mr Caesar D’Silva,Principal, GIIS Ahmedabad

July was all about debates, placements and creativity at GIIS Noida

Dear Parents, As I look back on everything our school community has accomplished recently, my heart is filled with immense pride. Seeing our students balance high academic ambition with empathy, leadership, and pure creativity is a constant reminder of what makes GIIS Noida so special.A standout highlight was our annual GIISMUN, organized and hosted entirely by our talented students. It turned out to be a resounding success! Delegates from schools across the entire city joined us, debating global issues and showcasing a level of diplomacy and teamwork that truly inspired everyone present.Back on campus, our younger learners brought so much heart and warmth to the school. The Grade 1 and 2 children gave us an unforgettable day during their Annual Holiday Learning Showcase. Watching them present their ideas with such genuine confidence—exploring concepts in ways that were both meaningful and fun—was deeply moving. For our Pre-Primary parents, we hosted a special classroom experience that let them step into their child’s world for a short while. It gave everyone a sweet, reassuring window into how these little ones grow, bond, and thrive during their hours away from home. Our Grade 3 to 5 students kept that momentum going with a fantastic Annual Expo. The campus was buzzing as they proudly displayed their projects, creative work, and hands-on, skill-based learning. It was clear just how deeply they are engaging with what they study. On the academic and college placement front, our senior students have given us major reasons to celebrate! We’ve seen incredible breakthroughs this year, including a student securing admission to IIM with an All India Rank of 2016 in NMAT, alongside another stellar achievement of AIR 13232 in JEE Advanced. We are also thrilled to share that Arnav Tiwari has secured admission into both IIM Mumbai for the 5-year Integrated MBA program and IIT Dhanbad for Mining Engineering. Additionally, Daksh Lakhawat earned a coveted spot at St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University. Their hard work and determination have truly paid off, and we couldn't be prouder.Lastly, because great learning starts with great teaching, our educators recently held a collaborative learning session. They sat together to revisit presentation techniques, share classroom ideas, and brainstorm fresh, dynamic ways to make every day learning even more engaging and impactful across all grades.Thank you to our amazing parents, dedicated teachers, and brilliant students for making GIIS Noida such a warm, thriving community. Warmly,Ganesh SharmaPrincipal, GIIS Noida

July at GIIS Nagpur: Voices, Values, and New Beginnings

Dear Parents,July month belonged to our students at GIIS Nagpur as they shone bright on the stage and in the assemblies through their originality and creativity. This month was all about the House assembly which was conducted with immense participation from all the four houses namely – Chrysanthemum, Sunflower, Orchid and Hibiscus.Chrysanthemum house assembly revolved around Clean Water and Sanitation and was a pleasant surprise as compared to a regular academic assembly. The house displayed an impressive skit which made us realize the water crisis and the need of the hour for conserving water in a much better way. The speeches about conservation made us realize the responsibility it will entail for the citizens of tomorrow and the students displayed a beautifully curated presentation, which in turn was a result of extensive research conducted by them.Sunflower House on 30th July, displayed a brilliant and vibrant assembly about Van Mahotsav which included school prayer, pledge on Vanmahotsav, a beautifully recited poetry and a mesmerizing dance performance which depicted the bond of harmony, humanity and nature.Orchid house on World Emoji day portrayed a topic close to the hearts of all parents and students – Misuse of Emojis and the different contexts it creates with the same emoji. The students presented a situational humorous skit which showed us what exactly can go wrong if one is not particular about emoji usage. A topic such as this never fails to engage the audience and the students did a brilliant job by connecting with the audience on this amusing yet relevant topic.Hibiscus house assembly on 15th July shed light on “Affordable and Clean Energy,” sensitising students to the importance of clean energy and the role Nagpur is playing in this global goal. The students connected the theme to local initiatives such as the PM-Surya Ghar Yojana, solar street lights and the MIHAN Solar Park through an informative speech, and reinforced the message with a well-researched skit. The assembly left the audience with a valuable takeaway – that clean energy is not just an environmental responsibility but also a cost-saving one, and that everyday actions like switching off fans and making the most of sunlight can add up to a meaningful impact. This month also witnessed the organising of Investiture Ceremony on 24 th July, in the school auditorium, to felicitate the newly elected student council members. The ceremony witnessed active participation from many students elected to various positions of authority in the student council. The students who were elected to the body of councillors, monitors and monitors assistants, took oath in the presence of our esteemed guests – CA Ms. Swaroopa S. Wazalwar, Mr. Arvind Temurnikar, Mrs. Neeta Temurnikar, and Mr. Kedar Gokhale. The event began with a welcome song and an energetic dance performance by the student council members. The chief guest encouraged the new members to serve selflessly with a sense of responsibility and integrity. Our Principal also motivated the new council members saying that it is important to remember that the best way to serve is with a heart full of empathy. The ceremony was conducted with great enthusiasm and marked the beginning of a new journey for our student council members at GIIS Nagpur.Apart from the above-mentioned events, Kargil Vijay Diwas and Friendship week were celebrated with much enthusiasm and patriotism across the school premises with students paying tribute to our Kargil Martyrs and our young ones in the nursery cherishing the spirit of friendship.Looking AheadAs we enter the month of August, we look forward to building upon the excitement, participation and inclusiveness shown by all, across the school, during the month of July. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to you, as our valuable stakeholders, for supporting us throughout this wonderful journey.Warm Regards,Ms. Nidhi Gupta

GIIS Nagpur Dancers Win Top Honours at Two Inter-School Competitions!!

GIIS Nagpur students brought home multiple awards from two inter-school dance competitions held over consecutive weeks, with results spanning folk, classical, and solo performance categories. At the iCEN Rhythm Inter-School Dance Competition, organised by Centre Point School International, GIIS Nagpur's Senior Category team performed an African Folk Dance routine, competing against teams from other schools across the city. The performance was assessed on choreography, synchronisation, and stage presence, and the team's execution stood out to judges for its energy and coordination.Individual honours followed for the school. Arnav Dekate of 6th Grade was awarded Best Dancer, a title contested by participants from fourteen schools that took part in the competition — one of the more competitive individual categories on the day. The Junior Category team also placed, receiving the Best Team Coordination, Synchrony and Harmony Award for their group performance, which recognised how well the dancers moved together as a unit rather than any single standout performer.Days later, GIIS Nagpur students competed at "Nrutyadhara," an inter-school dance competition hosted by Delhi Public School, Lava, Nagpur. Kavya Punase of 7th Grade represented the school with a Bharatanatyam solo performance of "Natesha Kautukam," a classical composition performed to traditional rhythm patterns. Her performance was judged on technical precision, expression (abhinaya), and overall stage presence, and she received Special Recognition for the piece — an individual honour distinct from the team categories at the earlier event.Together, the two competitions gave GIIS Nagpur students exposure to different performance formats: group choreography judged on collective timing and coordination, and solo classical performance judged on individual technique and interpretation. Both fall under the school's broader co-curricular framework, which includes structured training in both folk and classical dance forms as part of student development beyond the classroom.Preparation for both competitions involved regular rehearsal sessions in the lead-up to each event, with students working on formations, timing, and individual technique ahead of the performances. Teachers and dance instructors at GIIS Nagpur guided the students through this preparation process. The school's participation in inter-school competitions such as iCEN Rhythm and Nrutyadhara forms part of its wider effort to give students platforms to compete outside the school environment, alongside its regular calendar of co-curricular activities. Parents and staff can expect updates on students' continued participation in similar inter-school events through the school's ongoing communications.

GIIS Nagpur's Sunflower House Marks Van Mahotsav with a Special Morning Assembly

On 30th July 2026, Sunflower House led the morning assembly at GIIS Nagpur to mark Van Mahotsav, the festival of trees. The assembly focused on the importance of nature conservation and encouraged students to see it as something they can be part of, starting today rather than at some point in the future. The programme began with the school prayer, which set a calm and focused tone for the morning. This was followed by the pledge, where students reaffirmed their commitment to being responsible citizens who care for the environment around them. The assembly then moved into its usual segments — the word of the day and the thought of the day — both of which were connected to the theme of trees and conservation, so that even these smaller, routine parts of the assembly carried the day's message forward.Next came a poem recitation about the beauty of trees and the reasons they need to be protected. It was a quieter, more reflective part of the programme, giving students a moment to simply listen and take in the message rather than actively participate.Following the poem, several students spoke about the significance of Van Mahotsav. They explained how planting trees helps maintain ecological balance, reduces pollution, and supports a more sustainable future for everyone. The speeches stayed away from complicated facts and figures, focusing instead on simple, practical points that made tree planting feel like something well within a student's own reach — not a distant policy issue, but an everyday choice. The assembly then featured a dance performance showing the relationship between people and nature. This added a creative and visual dimension to the morning, using movement to communicate an idea that the earlier speeches had already introduced through words. For many students in the audience, this was the part of the assembly that stood out the most. The programme closed with the National Anthem, bringing the assembly to an end on a note of shared unity before students returned to their regular classes and routines for the day.Overall, the Van Mahotsav assembly organised by Sunflower House brought together prayer, poetry, speech, and dance to communicate one simple, consistent message: caring for the environment is not someone else's responsibility. It is a habit that starts with small, everyday choices — the kind any student can make, regardless of age or grade. The assembly served as a reminder that days like Van Mahotsav are not just about marking an occasion on the calendar, but about encouraging students to think about the role they can personally play in protecting the world around them.
