Special virtual activity session organized to celebrate Raksha Bandhan

“The paths may change as life goes along, but the bond between a brother and sister remains ever strong”

India’s festivals reflect the country’s rich cultural abundance. These festivals bring excitement, happiness and hope even in the most difficult times. 'Raksha Bandhan' or 'Rakhi' is a special occasion to celebrate the virtuous bond of love between a brother and sister which is one of the deepest and noblest of all human emotions.

Raksha Bandhan, a much-awaited Indian traditional festival of sisterly and brotherly respect was celebrated by the tiny tots of the GIIS Smart Campus Hadapsar. The special session for the same was organised on 20th August 2021 with great enthusiasm. On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, the teachers of GIIS conducted several activities through virtual platforms to make students understand the true essence of this festival and the sacred bond between brother and sister. The vibrant, colourful attires and innocent smiles of the students brightened the ambience and lifted the spirit.

This year little ones were briefed about the bond between them and the people who are always there to protect them in all aspects of life like parents, grandparents, soldiers, our honourable PM and our community helpers. Apart from Pre-Primary, all grades also participated in CCA activities, drew paintings, were involved in dancing activities and celebrated the occasion with full fervour. Some of them also crafted rakhis with the help of available materials such as colourful paper, thread and pearls at home. Rakhi making activity was indeed a wonderful experience for the kids as they really enjoyed the overall session.

The special festival celebration session concluded with the final crafting and decorating session of the Rakhi & Raksha Bandhan Thali. At last, the students strengthen their bond by tying the knot on the hand of those who are always there to protect them and receives their blessings in return.
