GIIS Hadapsar students swamped with events & activities this October

Greetings to one and all.

With normalcy returning, the month of October has been a busy one for students of Global Indian International School, Hadapsar.

With events and activities galore, the students were an active lot, as they were occupied right from the start of the month, which commenced with pompous celebrations.

The month began with a virtual Gandhi Jayanti celebration on 1st October 2021 where all the students from Pre-primary till Grade 9 participated with full fervour. There were different activities planned which included writing essays, delivering speeches, making charkhas & Gandhi topis, watching videos of ‘Life of Mahatma’ & ‘Salt March’, sharing their views about cleanliness & speaking about ‘My Monkey Says…’. A few of the activities had some interesting competitions where students participated enthusiastically and won many prizes.

Childhood is the best time to introduce moral values. The child has just started learning things in their life. It is very important to build the right character of the child. At GIIS, the moral values are inculcated in the child from the time he/she enters the gates of the school.

On 4th October 2021, GMP to Grade 2 reinforced the values of Helping, Sharing & Caring and Golden words of Kindness through various I Care activities. The constant reinforcement helps the children to remember and practice the values in their daily lives.

STEAM Week was celebrated from 4th October to 8th October 2021. STEAM was personified by the Renaissance figures Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo Buonarroti.

Although they were known more as painters and sculptors, they were also renowned as inventors, engineers, and scientists. Da Vinci conceptualized the helicopter and battle tank and made important discoveries in anatomy, hydrodynamics, and optics.

Michelangelo also worked as an architect and engineer, designing the large dome of St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. These men saw no boundaries between the arts and sciences. Taking a hint from these eminent personalities, the creativity & innovations of GIISians knew no bounds during the week.

While some students were seen learning fractions through Fraction Robot, making Balloon Cars, making projects on Micro-organisms, virtually touring places of worship, doing experiments on ‘Denser than you think’, the others made Simple Machines using right-angled triangles. The innovations came to a halt when students made Solar Cookers & excitedly answered all the quizzes.

Each human being has a creative and innovative mind. 8th October 2021 witnessed the same when some of the best little speakers spoke about ‘Healthy food Vs Junk food’ during GMP’s Conversation Station. It helped to strengthen the verbal skills and foster the public speaking competency of the young minds. It enabled them to improve their descriptive skills by communicating feelings, thoughts, and emotions with words. The inspiring presentation left no stone unturned to achieve a realistic appraisal of their skills. It was an interesting and thrilling experience for the teachers as well.

The event was followed by Thinking Thursday on 14th October 2021, wherein the little ones of GMP were shown experiments defining the States of Matter. They were bubbling with eagerness as they saw the various experiments and understood the concepts evidently. They were highly thrilled to learn numbers through Number Art during Math Magic on 22nd October 2021.

The colour purple speaks a thousand words, symbolises wisdom, makes one smile. Which colour is more valuable than Purple? The youngsters of GMP enjoyed the Purple Day activity by passionately participating & actively answering their respective teachers. Indeed, they had set examples of little wisdom & brought smiles to everyone around them.

Albert Einstein rightly said, “Imagination is more important than Knowledge.”

Integrated learning has always been the forte of GIIS. It was evidently seen when students fascinatingly indulged in Diya & Rangoli making. Pulchritudinous examples of the same were observed by the educators.

The young talents participated in GIIS: Spell-O-Well 2021 organised by GIIS Singapore & bagged the second prize in the competition, held on 20th October 2021. Ayushmaan Sharma, Krisha Dubey & Rajvi Shah added yet another feather in the cap of GIIS Smart Campus Hadapsar.

It’s not Magic that takes us to another World – It’s Storytelling. – Val Macdermid.

GIIS Noida virtually organised a Storytelling competition for pre-primary grades on 23rd October 2021. Undoubtedly, there were some mesmerising narrations by the young ones who stole the show. Shreshtha Pawar of KG2 made us all proud by bagging the first prize in the competition.

To commemorate 20 glorious years of GIIS, we at GIIS Smart Campus Hadapsar kick-started GS20 year-long celebrations including students, parents & teachers.

On 23rd October 2021, the students showcased their creativity in several competitions like: ‘Create your Gandhiji’ (Grades 1-2), ‘Pop Art Gandhi Portrait’ (Grades 3-5) & ‘Gandhiji Says’ (Grades 6-9).

Parents participated in maximum numbers for the competition ‘Science Hacks @ Home’ and sent us quite innovative videos which were really tough to judge. At GIIS, parents energetically participate, help, discuss, integrate and volunteer into the learning process of their ward. Their contribution is a testament to the attempts by the parents and staff to the greater cause of supporting education for humanity.

Meanwhile, the school is all set for welcoming the students to the campus. Students of Grade 8 & 9 shall resume their schooling from the campus starting from the 15th of November. Hoping to have more segments joining in soon. Necessary precautions are administered to ensure the safety of our students & staff on campus.

Please follow the messages shared by the teachers & school regularly. Communication is essential and we strive to connect to our students, parents, and community each and every day.

We also encourage you to visit our website and follow our social pages including Facebook, YouTube for announcements, information, and celebrations.

As always, I wish to express my sincere gratitude towards our entire school community for their tireless services. We would not be the amazing school that we are today, without the help and support of all our staff & the parent community.

Thank you once again and may you have a safe and happy Diwali vacation between 3rd & 14th November 2021. On behalf of the entire GIIS family, I wish to extend the best wishes for A HAPPY & A PROSPEROUS DIWALI.

Kindest Regards,
