Dear Parents,

Warm Greetings!

We hope you and your families continue to remain safe & healthy. I am sure our students must be missing being at school amongst their friends and teachers. Keeping the current scenario in our mind we are continuing to navigate the challenge of distant learning and have been considering and navigating several technological platforms & their sustainability in each class content.  We at GIIS promise to come up with more exciting activities and we wish to extend all gratitude towards our parents who have been so supportive during the online classes.

The very first assessment for the Academic batch of 2021-22 was successfully done and was performed on the Ekalavya portal & Google Classrooms. I wish to offer big applause to GIIS Hadapsar teachers & staff who trained our students by going beyond their limits to arrive at an easy get through during the assignments.

The students of grades 1 & 2 appeared for their Evaluation I, while grades 3 to 8 appeared for their Periodic Test-I. The grade 9 students appeared for their Pre-Mid Term exams which were held from 6th July to 14th July 2021. The exams were conducted through Google forms and the Eklavya platform- an AI-based exam portal, which was very effective and helped in creating a better assessment environment for the students. Our able team at GIIS, Smart Campus, Hadapsar successfully managed the online examinations.

After all the hard- work put in by the students for their exams, it was time for their results. The Parent-Teacher Meet (PTM) was held on the 23rd and 24th July 2021. The parents interacted with the teachers and expressed their happiness to see their child progress in the first term. We thanked them for partaking in the meet and sharing their valuable feedback.

During the month, the teachers were given subject-specific and Apple training so that they can explore various tools that can be used to improve classroom experiences. It also helped to look at other aspects of pedagogy that will build skills and conceptual understanding for our learners. Our campus is now gearing up for the Global Excellence Day, to be held this year.

This month, the students of Pre-Primary to Grade 2 celebrated Yellow Day on the 22nd of July, 2021. The children were dressed as different objects in yellow, for example, sweet corn, a mango, and a sunflower. The Sensory Week was very engaging as the children enhanced their knowledge about the different senses. Friendship Day was another fun-filled day as the students tied a ribbon or a friendship band to a plant or a tree and watched a puppet show.

It was surely a fruitful and engaging month and I promise more exciting events & activities in the cards and in the months to come. Till then stay safe and wish you & your family good health and good spirit.
