For the academic session 2022-23, GIIS Smart Campus Hadapsar hosted Annual Day on December 21 and 22. Annual day event allows the school to celebrate its students and acknowledge their hard work and achievements they have invested. It is to recognize and appreciate their impeccable growth in curricular, co-curricular, cultural activities that had been conducted throughout the year. 

After the two long years of the pandemic, it was our utmost priority to provide the students with the best offline and ‘normal’ academic session. The event was scheduled at 5.30 pm, it commenced with lightning lamps of prosperity by the guest of honor, Mrs. Vaishali Borde, The Academic Head of the Global Montessori Plus Program. It was then followed by a welcoming speech by her and Dr. Lakshmi Prasanna, Principal. Before beginning the performances, children received appreciation certificates from Mrs. Borde and the principal for their commendable performances and participation in the activities throughout the session.

Day 1 was under the theme Utopia- A Magical Journey for pre-primary to II grade students. The day was super one witnessing students as their favorite animated characters. There were cheers and applause reverberating from the audience. Students imitated the stories they love, like A Lion King, for which they were dressed as Bear(Bagheera), Lion/(Simba), other animals, and the trees. The Disney stories like Snow White and Seven Dwarfs, Dora- The Explorer was also impersonated. Little kids entertained everyone with the choir, school band, and drama.  The charm and innocence were clearly reflected in their performances. 

Whereas, Day 2 was under the theme GIIS Ke Navratna, observing 9 gems of Global Indian International School across the globe. It was filled with desires to be at zenith by the senior classes. The nine gems, Academic Excellence, Sports Excellence, Visual & Performing Arts, Personality Development, Innovation & Creativity, Entrepreneurship & Leadership, Universal Value & Ethics, and Community & Care, Skill Development were implemented with dance performances, skits,  or impersonations of inspiring leader(s). Greater examples of co-founder, of Global School Foundation, Mr. Atul Temurnikar were shared- about his life and the people he was inspired by, his life choices, and what made him enter the education industry. 

The two-day event was colorful. The loud cheers and applause made the month-long hard work put in by the teachers and students all worth it. It was only possible with the collective guidance of teachers and cooperation by parents that we made our Annual Gathering a success. With the new year, we look forward to more such activities and collaborations in the future. May everyone have a prosperous and abundant 2023!
