From the genesis of April

Beginning makes a lot of difference. It always keeps us focused, optimistic and full of dedication… Another fresh year at school is a chance to begin our life fresh, with new goals and new challenges…

Greetings to all! A New academic session and a new month soared up with a bright start on the 4th of April 2022 as our classes grew larger and were filled with the charming faces of children, bubbling with great enthusiasm and fervor. The academic year 2022-2023 has taught us many lessons and one of the great lessons has been to build on our challenges. We have had the privilege to continue learning and we promise to keep doing so.

Our first event for the month commenced with ‘World Health Day’. A special assembly was conducted by Hibiscus house to promote healthy choices and habits among the kids and staff of GIIS Smart campus Hadapsar. Here at GIIS we take care of our children and staff as our extended family. To ensure a healthy teaching-learning environment we had organized a health camp where a team of doctors from Yash Hospital visited our campus to ensure the good health and well being of our children and staff. The students took

away with them the message of “The importance of being Healthy”. As we believe good health is a secret of every happy man. We always motivate our students to take proper care of their health.

“Love is always shown by deeds and not by words.” Our students also celebrated National Siblings Day on the 18th of April, 2023 with the theme ‘The Bond of Love’ where they expressed their love towards their siblings by participating in many activities like making greeting cards and writing letters to their siblings.

On the occasion of World Book Day celebrated on April 23,2023. We organized a Book Fair-‘Carnival of Books’. Crossword in collaboration with our campus organized a three-day book festival in the assembly square of the school campus. The whole square had a festive look with lots of books beautifully laid out. Stalls were filled with books from various genres- science fiction, spirituality, contemporary writers etc.

Children and the staff members enjoyed the fair and selected the books they wished to read. The opportunity to browse books of so many varieties and in a large number at a time was a wonderful experience for the children and parents. The aim was to encourage and inculcate the love for reading among students.

Marking the closure of the book week that started from 19th of April to 21st of April, GIIS Smart campus Hadapsar witnessed Rhidhhaan Jain a budding author, founder of Ridhz World Publishing visiting and motivating us to write out our thoughts. A story writing competition wherein our student Abha Guli’s story was selected to be featured in his book ‘Once Upon In Our Minds’ Ms Rashmi Jain and an established author, founder of Soch aur Saaj, visiting the campus motivating secondary students to write out their feelings. It was an interactive session for children from grade 6-10 and all children showed great enthusiasm throughout the interaction.

“Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality”. GIIS Smart campus Hadapsar witnessed the most prestigious moment as we successfully inducted the newly elected and selected members of the Students’ Council on 27th April 2023. The Investiture Ceremony is one of the momentous occasions when the school entrusts hope, faith and the mantle of responsibility to the newly appointed school cabinet. The chief guest, Police Inspector Vishwas Dagale and guest of honour Ms Vailshal Borde, Head of GMP and Co scholastic head of Indian campus graced the occasion. They motivated the young leaders by their candid and honest words. The proud parents'and teacher’s happiness knew no bounds when badges and sashes were conferred on the newly elected Students' Council.

The School Head Boy-Master Shivansh Mishra, School Head Girl- Ms Gauri Chari along with the Sports Captain- Ms Agriya Thappa, House Captains, Vice captains and House Prefects were conferred with badges, sashes and flags. The students’ council took the pledge to hold the school motto of Loyalty, Truth and Honour in high esteem.

When people respect nature, it's a sign of a healthy situation. International Earth Day was celebrated on the 22nd of April 2023 as the secondary department donated some plants, ensuring a greener campus. As a part of class activity bird feeders were made based on -Reduce, Reuse and Recycle and materials made from best out of waste which created awareness amongst the little minds.

After all the exciting activities we also witnessed a Safety week. The students were educated on various safety topics such as safety at home, in school, on the road, cyber safety etc. All the students participated actively and wholeheartedly.
