Dear Parents,

Greetings to one and all.

It has been an exciting start post the Diwali vacations and a long break for our staff and students who had a great time celebrating Diwali after 1.8 years that has been challenging with many hurdles to overcome and uncertainties to navigate. But now we are happy to witness normalcy return in our daily lives.

As we inch towards the end of the year 2021, the month of November was delightful as well as a focused one.

Lights illuminate every corner of India during Diwali and the scent of incense sticks hang in the air, mingled with the sounds of joy, togetherness, and hope. The celebration of Diwali, the festival of lights came alive at GIIS, Smart Campus, Hadapsar when the whole school had a virtual celebration on 2nd November 2021.

Teachers, as well as students, were all dressed up in beautiful ethnic wear. In our endeavour to make this festival special, the students were encouraged to spread the message of celebrating a safe and pollution-free Eco-Friendly Diwali. The Pre-Primary section had a ‘Cook without Fire’ session along with their fathers as they enjoyed making chocolate ladoos. The students from Grade 1- 9 participated in various other activities such as making pink ladoos, lanterns, and papercraft, geometrically-shaped rangoli competitions which is an unusual example of the expression of mathematical ideas in a cultural setting. The students also made chandeliers using old bottles to promote green Diwali. These activities were also part of the GS2O year-long celebrations for the students.

After a festive Diwali break from 3rd November to 14th November 2021, the school reopened on 15th November 2021. We had an enthusiastic virtual celebration of Children’s Day on the 15th, ensuring that the excitement which comes with it is not missed out on just because we are not physically present in school. The teachers arranged some fun and dance programmes for the Pre-Primary section, while Grades 1 to 9 indulged in many fun activities such as a spin wheel, origami paper watches, minute to win it challenges, dumb charades, virtual cake-cutting, and many more.

Soon, the preparations for Periodic Test II and EV 3 examinations began considering the fact that the students need to get geared up for the assessments in early December.

Celebrating peace and tolerance, Global School Smart Campus- Abu Dhabi hosted an inter-school virtual competition which was held on 20th November 2021. Our students participated in the competitions with a lot of zeal.

Finally, GS20 celebrations continued this month with all staff members participating in the sports event which was organised by our P.E teacher, Mr Vishal Dhope. There was a team event for all the staff members who were divided into various groups, while ’Throw, Clap & Catch’ was an individual event. With full of exuberance and joy, the teachers had an eventful day

I am happy to say - WE ARE HERE BACK AT SCHOOL. We are beyond excited to get back to school and do what we love and educate our students. We are excited to have our buses back, distribute uniforms and hear the morning prayer and school bell ring loud, and of course celebrate our sports and extracurricular activities. The school shall soon commence on a physical mode (hybrid model) for students from Grade 5 onwards. We are all set to welcome the students back.

I greatly respect, appreciate, and value the teachers and staff who have been serving our students relentlessly during the online classes and see them sigh a sense of relief with the thought of having their little ones back at school.

A sincere thanks to all our parents for their constant support & appreciation. Thank you for everything you are doing to support our students, school, and community. Please ensure to prepare your ward for the forthcoming exams that are to commence from 1st December.
