Dear Parents & Guardians,

A hearty welcome to the new Academic Year 2022-23. I am delighted that you are part of our amazing learning community. We appreciate your trust in us and look forward to achieve new heights with your support.

A new academic session and a new month soared up with a bright start on the 4th of April 2022 as our classes grew larger and were filled with the charming faces of children, bubbling with great enthusiasm and fervour. The academic year 2021-2022 has taught us many lessons and one of the great lessons has been an adaptation to changing times. We have had the privilege to continue learning and we promise to keep doing so.

Our first event for the month commenced with World Health Day. A special assembly was conducted in all the classes to promote healthy choices and habits among the kids, followed by I-Care activities based on the theme- Panch Tattva that enlightened them about the five elements of nature and their relation in our life i.e Air (Vayu Tatva), Water (Jal Tatva), Earth (Prithvi Tatva), Ether (Akash Tatva) and Fire (Agni Tatva). Each child enjoyed and had a unique experience to cherish.

The children also celebrated National Siblings Day on the 18th of April, 2022 with the theme ‘The Bond of Love’ where they expressed their love towards their siblings by participating in many activities like dress-up photoshoots, making greeting cards, tattoos and writing letters. The students were also involved in some Thinking Thursday activities that required them to display their creativity and enhance their imagination skills.

International Earth Day was celebrated on the  22nd of April 2022 as the students showcased their talent by creating posters, bird feed ornaments, awareness campaigns such as a short skit based on -Reduce, Reuse and Recycle and materials made from the best out of waste.

English Language Day was another event that got the children excited about the activities lined up for them. They enacted inanimate objects, delivered speeches on topics such as ‘My Town Festival’, gave book reviews on their favourite novel/storybook and many more.

After all that excitement, we paved the way for the ‘Safety Week’ which was held from 25th to 29th of April. The students were educated on various safety topics such as safety at home, in the school, on the road etc keeping the current situation in mind. All the students participated actively and wholeheartedly.

A global celebration of dance, International Dance Day was celebrated on 29th April 2022 to encourage participation and education in dance. The students performed various dance forms such as freestyle and semi-classical.

Math Magic activities were also conducted to help improve their reasoning abilities and problem-solving skills.

All activities  displayed showcased signs of  another incredible and productive fully functional year. Our skilled and devoted staff is all set to gear up for the new academic year. We are indeed a joyous and caring community with the common goals of nurturing responsible, caring students and promoting high-level learning. Let us together make this year the most fruitful & successful one giving the best of all that we could to our children.

Each year brings positive changes. This includes a few additions to our staff. We are delighted to welcome newly added staff across  Administrative, Academic & Admissions roles to the GIIS family.

The summer break shall begin on 6th May. Do encourage the students to complete the holiday homework, which is a portion of the Academic assessments of the year. The school shall re-open on the 8th of June & please be sure the attendance stands compulsory.

Thank you to all who are helping prepare for the new school year. Your dedication makes GIIS remain a celebrated and successful school as always.
