75th Independence Day celebrations elevated the feeling on patriotism

Independence day has a special place in the heart of every Indian. Not only does it symbolize the celebration of 75 years of freedom but also extends an emphatic message of the progressive future of our country.

The Global Indian International School (GIIS), Smart Campus Hadapsar, virtually celebrated Independence Day for the Kindergarten on Friday, 13th of August 2021.

On the occasion, Dr. Lakshmi Prasanna, Principal GIIS Hadapsar hosted the flag in the campus and delivered a special speech. Teachers and other staff members were also present in the campus to salute the flag and they together remembered our freedom fighters.

During the special session, the children were educated by explaining the history and significance of Independence Day which is celebrated on 15th of August every year because India became a free and independent nation on this day.

Students sensitized about National Flag and its significance

Students were also told about the flagship event and celebration at the Red fort where the Prime Minister hoists the National flag and delivers a speech from its ramparts. The students were quite curious to know more about India's Independence and its struggle for freedom.

Everyone was all ears when they were told stories about how our great leaders fought and won our freedom from British rule. Teachers shared the information about the National symbols, National Flag, National Anthem, and National Emblem. Later then, the National Anthem was played in the class to pay tribute to our National warriors.

Children dressed up as their favourite Indian Leaders

Following the National Anthem, children dressed up as our great national leaders performed a role-play of different freedom fighters along with their parents. To mark the end of the celebration, a colouring activity of our National Flag was also conducted, which witnessed huge participation.

The students of Primary grades also prepared dishes to cherish the moment of India’s freedom and made several dishes such as cake, sandwich,es and other items with the help of their parents and later enjoyed it with their classmates, family, and friends during the special class.
