The Pre-Primary students of the Global Indian International School (GIIS), Smart Campus Balewadi participated in a fun-filled Thinking Thursday activity on 10th June, 21 to understand the importance of hand hygiene through hands-on activities.

In order to make them understand things in a better way through practical experience, the respective class teachers of the pre-primary segment conducted the ‘Pepper Germ Experiment’ that further helped them to understand the several health benefits associated with hand hygiene. They also explained several measures to prevent the spread of deadly Coronavirus by frequently washing and sanitizing their hands. The activity encouraged the development of inquisitive minds and this further made our young minds conscious about hand hygiene and to implement it in regular practice.

Students were seen actively participating and showcasing the experiment where they could actually check the benefits of hand wash and sanitization. The teachers further explained the process of the experiment step-by-step through a PowerPoint Presentation for better understanding. Students really enjoyed the activities based on hand hygiene and were also explained why it is necessary for good health. Several ways to protect from germs were also explained to them during the dedicated online classes.

The objective behind conducting such activities was to enable students to imbibe hand hygiene habits to prevent themselves and their family members from the deadly disease. The little ones really enjoyed the session throughout and learned several benefits of washing hands, especially during the coronavirus pandemic.
