Dear Parents,
Greetings of the day.
We have now come to the closure of a successful Academic Year 2021-22. It is time for students to get evaluated as March will be exam time.
I request all parents to give due attention to the children so that they come out with the desired performance when it comes to the exam results.
Meanwhile, the month of February has been another engaging month where students from all sections took part in various activities.
The kindergarteners as usual had a month bustling with activity as they took part in the Magic Balloon experiment, National Make a Friend Day, Rainbow Colour Day and Green Medicine day. They also learnt about the importance of peace in our daily lives as part of the Mahatma Gandhi Center For Universal Values (MGCUV).
The students of the Primary Section had their share of events which kept them occupied. Students of Grades 1 and 2 took part in the Math Magic Activity in which they came to know the importance of money in our daily lives. This was followed by the Colour Changing Activity wherein they enjoyed the drawing session in a fun way.
Meanwhile, Atharv Chadha and Sharva Sherekar from GIIS Smart Campus Balewadi put on a good show as they finished on the second position at the ‘Young Brainiacs of GIIS ‘ -Virtual Inter-School Quiz Competition for the students of K2, hosted by GIIS Ahmedabad recently. The duo from Balewadi managed to score 85 points to stand second while GIIS Smart Campus Hadapsar clinched the top spot with 90 points.
Adding to the list of success stories was Eshani Shrivastava, a KG 1 student from GIIS Smart Campus Balewadi who stood in the first position at the Inter GIIS Show and Tell Competition, which was organised by GIIS Smart Campus Hadapsar. Eshani spoke about 'The Great Barrier Reef' which keep the audience glued to the screens. Her confidence reflected with her speech clarity as she delivered her best shot in the competition. The main focus of this event was to encourage the little ones to speak with their creativity and innovation. The topic for the competition was “Beautiful Creatures of Beautiful Nature” which was very nicely put across by all the participating students.
Nikita Neelkanth from Grade 8B secured International Rank 1 in the SOF International English Olympiad. Meanwhile, her sister Nitara Neelkanth also secured International Rank 1 in her respective category of the Olympiad. Both won gifts worth Rs 1000/-, an International Gold Medal and a Certificate of Outstanding Performance.
The students of GIIS Balewadi displayed an impressive performance in the Gempak Vaganza event which was hosted by GIIS Kuala Lumpur wherein they won 11 out of 20 prizes.
The GMP annual day ‘Sparkles’ turned out to be a glittering affair as it was held with the pomp and show virtually at GIIS Smart Campus Balewadi on 26th February 2022.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of Nursery, K1, K2, parents and teachers alike who were glued to their screens during the entire duration of the event. The Guest Of Honour of the event was Ms Vaishali Borde, Head- GMP and Co-scholastics.
Right from the performances, acknowledging the achievements of students to going down memory lane, the annual day was lauded by one and all.
Like always I would like to extend my warm wishes and thanks to all the teachers who have been giving their best.
We are now preparing for the Academic Year AY 2022-23 with high spirits.
All the best to every student for the forthcoming exams.
Warm Regards,
